carfish7 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 This one is a 1994 (#400044) in good shape with some replaced parts. I think it may have lived in a salty clime or had a toxic sweat owner previously, because I have had to replace the pickup screws, pickguard screws and 5-way switch, and the bridge has been swapped for a vintage Fender unit due to the Wilky completely melting away (the remains are included). The Fender piece is a direct replacement and functions flawlessly, but keeps the back cover (included) from fitting due to the block being a tiny fraction bigger. Stock Duncan pickups in the stock pearloid PG or for $75 more I'll include the Bill & Becky L280 set currently installed. It plays and sounds really nice, as you would probably expect from this model. There are a few minor body marks and an eraser sized bare spot on the fingerboard at the tenth fret to indicate regular usage, and the frets are showing a bit of grooving as well, but overall it is pretty clean and looks sweet in trans green over nicely figured ash. It is not insanely heavy.I'll take some real pics as soon as the sun comes out, but you know what these look like, right? It was purchased here from a HFC brother and I'm going after Peter's Koa Mirage, so let's get this gone quick!$550 plus actual shipping or trade me something Koa.Thanks!ZEdited to add you can call me @ 612-703-3990 for details.
carfish7 Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Is that a bag of weed over by the backplate, Z?? That depends on how good your imagination ( or screen resolution) is. Uh, no weed included and no case either, but it does come with a (gig) bag. Z
BubbaVO Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 So does it come with 3 pups or is it 2 pups and a chamber under the pickguard for the stash?
bubs_42 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I'm trying to focus here, but this is a good lookin Daytona ! Funny thing, I already have a case..
carfish7 Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 I'm trying to focus here, but this is a good lookin Daytona ! Funny thing, I already have a case.. AND a Daytona? I'm pretty sure I mailed one to you once............... Oh, but it was a ROSEWOOD 'board unit last time. You need this to help balance the Universe, and your tonal palate. Z

Z Yes, Rosewood and Blonde... Still got it and it rocks! I'll be selling soon myself but its not going anywhere.
HoboMan Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Is that a bag of weed over by the backplate, Z?? By golly, I think it is!
carfish7 Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 Is that a bag of weed over by the backplate, Z?? By golly, I think it is! I don't know what you guys are talking about. To suggest that I would participate in an illegal activity frankly makes me question the type of characters that populate this board. No, wait. I know EXACTLY the type of characters that hang here. And, Still awaiting sunshine. Z
earachemyeye Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I believe him. Those are obviously several unfinished pickles that he put in a baggy to eat later. They look kinda dry though. Better flush them down the toilet. Anyway, I thought this guitar sounded fantastic at the jam. Wish I had money . Joe
hamersandstrats Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I think that was mine. The guitar, not the stash. The fender bridge was either from an American or Japanese Fender Reissue Strat-it fit right in if that's telling in any way. I will concur that she is one nice sounding Daytona. I dont know too much about the guitars history or the source of the corrosion on the hardware, but it did come from Florida and my guess would be that is was left outdoors for a while and the salty air got a hold. The electronics worked fine though, and the grain on the wood is stunning.
bubs_42 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 This is sad.. both of mine are so much better than my Strats.. My Daytona is the only one left standing.
carfish7 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 New pics. Now with JB Jr and stock neck/middle pickups, original bridge pickup included of course. Sounds great and perfectly balanced volume-wise. $550 shipped with a gig bag, but I'm sizing up cases and may have a tolex HSC that fits. This is some nice wood here, yessiree Bob. Fine green, indeed! Cool serial# as well; Z
carfish7 Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 "Soon to be offered to the unwashed masses" bump. Is it the color? Changed bridge a bummer (it works perfectly - this thing floats and warbles, and pops right back in tune)? Everyone just too broke? I'm not hateful, just curious. It does seem like everyone is in "purge" mode. That's cool - I'll keep playing it. It's ALL good, no matter what. Even if it isn't easy being green. Z
carfish7 Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 Resurrection bump. It's still green. I only play red guitars now, so still available. Z
