Mindseyes Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I've been running it on my 4gS without any problems.
gorch Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Still an Apple OS.Performance improved as I feel it. I'm not using this maps. Had difficulties to view HFC embedded videos.Does not sync to iTunes 10.5 anymore that's pre-installed on the current PC at work.
silentman Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Installing will wipe out the default youtube app. I have not found a replacement that is as good yet. Especially on the ipad.
cynic Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Installing will wipe out the default youtube app. I have not found a replacement that is as good yet. Especially on the ipad. You loaded iOS6 on your iPad?Edited to add: Nevermind.....I have an original iPad and I get the "5.1.1 is the current version" when I check for updates, but I just saw that iOS6 is available for the later models.Apparently I'm being phased out.
Mindseyes Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Installing will wipe out the default youtube app. I have not found a replacement that is as good yet. Especially on the ipad.Yea I had to DL the YouTube app from the app store on my phone, I actually like it more than the one that was built in to the OS all these yearsI have a 1st gen iPad and have not updated the iOS on it in a while so I can't comment on it.
gorch Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 ... You loaded iOS6 on your iPad?...iOS6 on iPad3 here.
velorush Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 My daughter and I are both on iPhone 4 (not S). She has upgraded and noticed some battery issues; I have not upgraded. I picked up on some chatter that the Maps was constantly trying to pickup traffic data (LOL, traffic data, around here?) causing battery drain. Apparently the fix is to just turn off traffic reporting. Getting her to slow down for two minutes to do that is a bigger issue than the battery drain. After being a dissatisfied early-acquirer of 5.00, I will be waiting until 6.01. She likes the new features and, other than the battery issue, says it's great.
Mindseyes Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I really like the new full screen in safari, browsing seems faster on and off WiFi.My battery usage seems about the same, I am not a power user by any means so YMMV.The new 3D view in the map app is a trip! Spent a good part of the night last night visiting city's ive never been to, New York was really cool with all the tall buildings and what not.
kizanski Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Poe would weigh in, but his iPhone got bricked the other day while upgrading lol.
morningstar Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Maps I use. I expect they will fix that and hope we all forget the geschmozzle.Everything else is hunky dory so far.The white phone keyboard looks odd, is there a skins option? I like dark keys with white numbers.Rockmorningstar
morningstar Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 I talked to a client last night who lost all her address books, calendars etc in the upgrade.I have not had any other problems so far.
RCM78 Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 ios6 hasn't been an improvement for me... I use an app called groups for sending mass texts or emails. it works in ios6 but in ios5 it synced with the native contacts app. ios6 does not support groups in the contacts app like ios5 did...Facebook integration has infiltrated my contacts list. Added all my FB friends info, created duplicate contacts, added friends who's phone numbers I don't have. It's a mess...I use an app called CalenGoo. It's basically Google Calendar. ios6 integrated all my Facebook events and my friends Facebook events into MY Google calendar. I use the calendar strictly for band business and don't need or want this stuff clogging it up. Luckily I was able to go into the calengoo app and set it to ignore Facebook...So far those are the only issues. The new OS seems to run fine on my 4Gs and I haven't noticed any decrease in battery life...
