BTMN Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Yeah but if you had seen my face the night I saw him play it for the first time and the grin of disbelief. It might have made ya feel a little better about the hard work. I did not even know a Korina one was in the works and the there it was.
triodecr Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Banjo tuners! Hahahahah! Never would have noticed had it not been pointed out. Cool pic!
NEWMAN60 Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Hey Northy, there are a few pictures of that thing being made, aren't there?
HSB0531 Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 Jackass, Newman, Northfield: Any of you have pics of my Trans-Black Standard 12 in the building stages? This one: Jackass does but he does not know how to post them!! Oh that was brutal.
HSB0531 Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 What is that board behind you, B? Is that Mike Shishkov holing the Vector? (sorry if I misspelled his name)
HSB0531 Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 Jackass, Newman, Northfield: Any of you have pics of my Trans-Black Standard 12 in the building stages? This one: Look at that fucking maple. Do you have any intonation issues with that bridge?Bm What are your views on the Middle East? Regarding Look at that fucking maple: I told Greg at BCR I wanted the grain to match up and he got on the phone with you guys saying he wanted the sickest piece of maple you could find. I was expecting an exact mirror image match. What blew my mind is that you guys matched AND chevron'd it !!!!!! I'm still in awe! Regarding bridge intonation: No I don't have any problems why? Regarding the Middle East: We'll have to discuss that over a bottle of rum....arggg matey.
HSB0531 Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 Yup. That is Mike holding the Vector. If I remember correctly, that's his Vector. And I'll bet he built it with a pocket knife and a tree log.
BTMN Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Found you in the blog. Bet that was fun to work on. Still looks beautiful with the neck break and the other one has SUCH a great looking top. That Blog needs an update or 4.

Northfield Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Working on the five neck ( like any of Rick's guitars ) was a blast. There were a lot of chalenges and few of them solved by doing this.
cmatthes Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Bob n' Mike - is that a SINGLE piece of Korina? (I know that there's a top, but is that a super wide slab?)

serial Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Serial might chime in on this. If I recall correctly, there was a bit of a disagreement on who would get the last AH guitar. Steve Ward (shop manager) and Kevin Thiel (RIP) both wanted it. I have the last number from AH as an Artist Custom 747992. Steve got a korina Vector and I am not sure what his serial number is.I would guess the Artist belonged to Kevin. I think the V in the photo above probably belongs to Northfield.Northfield and I talked about this today. Steve's Vector is the last one out of Arlington Heights. I believe it's one number after Kevin's Artist. I think there is a pic of the serial number book in Northfield's archives.Pretty smart way to do the 5 neck.I $hit you not...it's in the book!

When I answered the door in my low hanging boxers, I said "What the FUCK do you want!! They said "Do you have any intonation issues with your Hamer multi-string basses?" I said "Why no I don't. Do you have anything light?". They said "Here are some pamphlets on Jewish sports legends". BM Bap babe, slide a piece of the porta, drink side round the java.

That Blog needs an update or 4. If you mean the workshop blog, it has been stagnant forever. Somebody should close it or at least change it. I forgot about that picture. I think when I wore that shirt that day, fender hadn't bought Guild yet and moved it out here. I like the pictures of me with no side shots of my nose! Bm
