Even the first prototype Improvs wouldn't have been under construction until around 2002, correct?

Jol displaying a prototype Improv at HFC6 (10/03/03).

How many years were they working on these things before they were released?

The first prototype was finished in June 1999. There was a second prototype in 2002 and the first production one came out in September 2003.

There was almost no tooling to make them, so they had to be handmade.

Should have used the Strat neck.

and I'm pretty sure it's 12:50

Hard to tell.

I never understood why they made clocks with hands that were close to the same size.

Yes! Very cool, thanks as well. I have always admired the craftsmenship of the Hamers. And like Jol said I assumed it was a much bigger operation. I have a question for some of the guy's who worked there about the ivoroid binding. Do you remember who the supplier was, and did you have to let it cure before working with it? On other guitars with ivoroid binding they can run into problems with shrinking, I don't think I've seen that on Hamers.....? Just wondering, thanks!
