seaofstrings Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Ok, I have had this one for about 10-12 years, and time has come to fund a new amp. I have been getting into strats too much the last few years.I wil edit this later to add some photos. It has a natural finish, the only one I have ever seen. Kahler bridge, 3X3 headstock, tribucker and single at the neck. Great shape, a few dings on the headstock, otherwise in super shape. I take care of my guitars. Not sure on price, I have only seen a couple on ebay in the last few years, so throw something at me. I am ready to move this guitar as I really need a decent amp. (sold most of them few years back).Sorry for dust on headstock
serial Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Is the finish original? Is the Kahler original? Back pics? Serial number?Phantoms are great guitars.
seaofstrings Posted October 31, 2005 Author Posted October 31, 2005 Is the finish original? Is the Kahler original? Back pics? Serial number?Phantoms are great guitars.Yes the finish is original. The kahler as well is original. There is no serial number for this prototype. Here are a few more pictures for you. Thanks
HamStd Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Serial: do you want to say it or should I???Peter
seaofstrings Posted October 31, 2005 Author Posted October 31, 2005 Serial: do you want to say it or should I???Peter ? I do not see a serial number
Nuclear Wessel Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Serial: do you want to say it or should I???Peter I think our seller just did.
cmatthes Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 (Hint)That's not the original finish, and it's not the original Kahler. That guitar came with a Hamerlock Trem or Sustainblock Trem (whatever it was called). The Kahler is aftermarket. The way to tell is the back-routed "Strat" style cavity - Kahlers don't go through the back of guitars like that. It's also a refin. Check in the cavity or the lead channels for spray, but the lack of a serial number is only one of the ways to tell it's been refinned.
seaofstrings Posted October 31, 2005 Author Posted October 31, 2005 Yea I just received a similar email. So noone is willing to offer anything on this then...hmm..
serial Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Peter: I sent an email off the board, but someone else posted the info here 1st. I still like Phantoms-they are cool guitars. I've got to get the nut swapped on mine though... Don't see that many around anymore unfortunately.
HamStd Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Seaofstring: I wasn't trying to be a jerk about your guitar, I think people will make offers to you on it (might not be what you expected though) I think they just needed more facts about what it exactly is.Serial: that one is nice-I wouldn't flip the nut on that one, that (upper horn-or lower if you play it right handed could be a real crotch jabber) and you sure don't see many that have just the sustainblock bridge (plus the 3 x 3 vs the 6 inline which I have seen a handful). Oh yeah and those other silly minor facts about it being a lefty, unique color and have a cool lineage might also make it alittle more than your average phantom!!!!!!Peter.
serial Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I was thinking about yanking the frets or adding LEDs...
HamStd Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 And a Wonderbar to do those Van Hagar Divebombs!!!! No routing required..... Peter
DavidE Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 So, does anyone know this seller? He appears to be flat out lying on Ebay if the information given to him here is true. And it all makes sense to me:http://cgi.ebay.com/1984-Hamer-USA-Phantom...1QQcmdZViewItem
seaofstrings Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 So, does anyone know this seller? He appears to be flat out lying on Ebay if the information given to him here is true. And it all makes sense to me:http://cgi.ebay.com/1984-Hamer-USA-Phantom...1QQcmdZViewItem Hey calm down buddy, I haven't gotton into ebay yet to take care of the issue. Noone is "flat outl ying". But thanks for your community watch! For everyone else, thanks for the information, very much appreciated!
DavidE Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Cool. You're original post didn't say it was on Ebay, so it appeared that the Ebay auction came later.
DavidE Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 For a Newb who doesn't realize that we look out for each other here, even when we (I) make a mistake...you know, if you insist on being the local detective here. Perhaps you should start with the basics and look at the date the guitar was listed, and the date I started getting reponses here on the forum. It doesn't take much to add 2 & 2 together. Now go bug someone else. Like I said, when I get home, I will correct the listing. In the meantime, this really doesn't involve anything but your nose.
seaofstrings Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 Yes, I wrote that. I will not attempt to place your emails here. Also, to imply that I am a "newb" because I haven't placed numerous threads or replies on "Hamer Fan Club" is silly. With that being said, what is your issue??? I can't correct an ebay listing from work, and I shouldn't be sitting here explaining this to you. Go find something to do my friend.
paults Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I guess you'd rather use your email account to attack Dave than answer questions about the guitar. Its not like Dave or I ever really buy Hamers, anyway...
serial Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 At least not Phantoms, Paults! I can't imagine you playing one of those silly things.
wyldbil Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 *sniff**sniff*You know what's next. Why bother?
edgar_allan_poe Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 hmmmmm.....still waiting fo the e-bay add to be changed.
SirDouglas Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 OMG this is hilarious... you really think 90% of us are stupid??? here let me quote your so called "listing change" There have a been a few questions, so I will address them here. The Kahler is the original, as well as the finish on the body, neck, and headstock. This prototype does NOT have a serial number, it is a pre sig model. Here are a few more pictures for you. Thank you Now as most know by now i dont play games.... so here let me clarify a few things for ya... ITS A REFINISH DIPSHIT!!!!!!!... ITS NOT A "prototype" with no serial #... the # was sanded off..... HELLO!!!!!!!!!!! And the Kahler isnt original either as mentioned above... DUR!!!!!!.... how do you sleep at night knowing your a lower life form?... do your synapse actually fire normally? bet you didnt even understand that did you? ok /rant off.... now do us all a favor and get lost before we take you out back of the woodshed for 1 embarassing yourself and 2 thinking we dont know anything and are all backwoods... ( if this offended anyone but the intended... <insert here what you think id say(dont say it greg)> or im atually sorry... you choose...) RAWR!!!!!!! Sir Douglas Randy
BCR Greg Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Captain Subtle strikes again. That Phantom is a ragged dog. Period.
