Ting Ho Dung Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Not mine. Wish it was. Wrap tail. Over priced. Tummy cut. Aztec Gold?http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261232861121&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123
santellavision Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 It's listed cheaper on the Shelton's Guitars website. (Those new, higher ebay final fees SUCK!)
ghamerinfrance Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Through ebay, they think that through International sales, they may sale it easier and for more.Maybe in average but not that sure today...
cynic Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Passing the cost of advertising on to the consumer isn't new.
sixesandsevens Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Not that it isn't beautiful, but isn't $1099 still high, even for a wraptail? Also: Shelton's Guitars is an online business. We offer fair, no haggle prices on great vintage and used instruments. Always fair prices and great service! I should go knock on the guy's door and offer him $350 in cash and see if he takes it. You're right tho Thorn, that's a pretty one. When I got my orange one, I was originally hoping to find one in Aztec Gold. Now I remember why.
santellavision Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 The ebay final fees would be $110. Plus the additional $35. to Paypal (ebay owned). That's $145!!! That is getting too much for me. CraigsList is the way to go. I'm getting more and more out-of-town calls from people using national CraigsList search engines to find listings.

I don't want people coming to my house wasting my time and casing the joint at the same time.

I think if you can take great shots like this dude (although I would lose the wrinkledsatin sheet) it's basically free advertising which drives people to your site.
sixesandsevens Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 In case anyone cares, Shelton replied that he's Internet only, so no local discount for me.
MCChris Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 FTR that's what I paid for my NOS wraparound Studio back in '97 or '98. $1.2K is 40% off original list price for those. Not that it particularly matters in this market or among us cheap fucks at the HFC.
sixesandsevens Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Heh. Sadly it seems if you read $350 enough you start to believe it.
ptm1diver Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I sent emails to shelton guitars but no responses.
sixesandsevens Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I sent emails to shelton guitars but no responses. That's a bummer. I got a response the same day, so Shelton's out there somewhere.
santellavision Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Yeah, like my '59 ES345 I got for $750. or a '57 TV Jr for $500. I miss those days!!!
