Dammit!! Sweden is too expensive to send my Mother's Milk to. Someone closer want it? If not, I'm throwing it out in the street and see if lightning will hit it.

Try cranking "Higher Ground" or "Stone Cold Bush" really loud and see if that doesn't change your mind. I get some folks don't dig the vocals but Flea, Smith, and Fruscante fucking kill.

^^^ No problems for me with Bass, Drums and Guitar, I've just never had any use for Kiedis, his vocals or his lyrics.

I used to tend bar in a place that a buddy of mine owned, that was a big hangout for college aged North Shore kids, during the Summer of '92, and it didn't take them long to figure out that I had a 'kill' switch for the juke box behind the bar. Playing RHCP activated my trigger finger, got them a refund, and the suggestion to try again. Playing 'Under the Bridge' eventually became equivilent to "Lose a Turn".

They used to get some laughs setting up their friends who weren't familiar with the program, by telling them to play it, then immediately signal me to what was going on. Newbies would get a free drink and a stern warning.

Isolated guitar tracks from the entire BSSM album:

Thank you!

Californication is OK, but is one of the most poorly mastered albums ever and is hard to listen to. Not familiar with the rest of their post-BSSM output.

Frusciante stepped in for a legend, did a great job on Mother's Milk and then took it to a supreme level on BSSM. I remember thinking it was a legit 5-star album when I first heard it, and IMO it has held up to that standard 22 years later. A masterwork that does what all great albums do: captures a moment in time.

^^^ +1

I liked some of the songs on Californication but could never get past the horrible audio quality. It sounds like they used the latest 'squashing' plug-in and cranked the controls until it sounded like shit. For me, BSSM is up there with Abraxas and some of the Beatles albums as far as exemplary tones, natural room sounds, mix, and mastering.

Mother's Milk is a favorite album for that time period - I was heavily into brewing beer at the time and that was great music to boil malt by.

BSSB was good too, but it was the final RHCP album I would buy. After BSSD, meh.

You should give Stadium Arcadium a chance. It's definately up there with BSSM, perhaps it even surpases it. It's their Sgt Pepper, a true milestone in genious.

A doulbe CD, 4 vinyl album without a bad track. And Johns playing is just beyond words, it's fucking art.

BTW, how do they get these isolated recordings of a whole album? It must come directly from the master tapes, right? Who leaks them...?

Higher Ground is the Power Ranger Anthem, LOL My boys used to watch that constantly. I always thought it was a Sammy Hagar tune. WTF. LOL The rest of RHCP just reminds me of the Beastie Boys. I just don't get it I guess. Maybe I should GTFO! LOL

The album they did with Navarro is a gem, although completely unacknowledged by them. The Stalin of their discography, if you will. Stadium Arcadium is damn good too. I agree 1000%. You have summed up my opinion of BSSM and "One Hot Minute" (the Navarro record) better than I ever could.

Simply put, BSSM is a masterpiece and will continue to be so. It has and will continue to hold up to the test of time.

Get the Fuck Out...lol I think

Careful with those Beatles comparisons, you'll set yourself to be ostracized as if you compared Gene Simmons' bass lines to Paul McCartney's.

I either invented or repeated that sentiment, not sure.

WTF, everyone knows The Beatles were shite. They played all weird chords and looked like sissys. The Stones man, that's where it is. The Stones!

And don't get me started on that Yoko woman. Yuck. Again, The Stones man. They had way better looking women too. :D

Yoko on the cover of Mother's Milk would have been awesome. New Guinea tits and all.
