FrankieIII Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Listen to that amazing crowd go wild. No wonder these rock stars revert to fucking heroin to come down to reality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu7Qyg3tgHE
Ting Ho Dung Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I didn't make it to a minute. Maybe this should be posted in the worst song thread.
MCChris Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I didn't make it to a minute. Maybe this should be posted in the worst song thread.Maybe you should GTFO!Isolated guitar tracks from the entire BSSM album: http://youtu.be/V_Y5dWRicWM
Tres Aardvarks Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 That was the last RHCP album I bought, and was a great tour live. The entire place was jumping around. Unfortunately, I think Under The Bridge signalled a "hey man, I'm a really great singer" idea in Anthony's brain and (to me) it was all downhill from there. I loved Uplift Mofo Party Plan.
coolfeel Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 John Frusciante kills on that album, purest funk since early Funkadelic...

I loved Uplift Mofo Party Plan. The album they did with Navarro is a gem, although completely unacknowledged by them. The Stalin of their discography, if you will. Stadium Arcadium is damn good too. Californication is OK, but is one of the most poorly mastered albums ever and is hard to listen to. Not familiar with the rest of their post-BSSM output.Frusciante stepped in for a legend, did a great job on Mother's Milk and then took it to a supreme level on BSSM. I remember thinking it was a legit 5-star album when I first heard it, and IMO it has held up to that standard 22 years later. A masterwork that does what all great albums do: captures a moment in time.

Ting Ho Dung Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Oh yeah, Now I remember. From my debut post. You must have been the one using that acronym, Mc Chris.
bcsride Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Already in the sig. Nice job Thorn (with the assist to MCChris).
MCChris Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Oh yeah, Now I remember. From my debut post. You must have been the one using that acronym, Mc Chris. Sounds like something I'd do. I'm a prick like that.

I'm a prick like that. LOL For anyone who wants it, I have a free CD nearly unplayed called, Mother's Milk. I would have to look for it but I'm pretty sure it's still here in the dust bin. Edit to add: To the OP, I would have to agree that having control of an audience as exuberant as in the first video would tend to make one seek a way of substance to "come down" from an adrenaline rush such as that.
Disturber Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Love the Chilipeppers. Love Frusicante. They were an awesome band at that time but they still are good I think. Here is one of my all time favourite Youtube clips. That guitarsolo around 04,25 in to the video is one of the coolest ever. Intense is an understatement:

Ting Ho Dung Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Looks like my Mother's Milk is heading to Sweden. Thank god it's going so far away from me. Hopefully it will never return.

What's he doing behind the nut? Looks/sounds like something Jake E. Lee would do.

killerteddybear Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Mother's Milk is a favorite album for that time period - I was heavily into brewing beer at the time and that was great music to boil malt by.BSSB was good too, but it was the final RHCP album I would buy. After BSSD, meh.
mathman Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I've been a fan since the first album. Saw them in Gainesville.
Ting Ho Dung Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Dammit!! Sweden is too expensive to send my Mother's Milk to. Someone closer want it? If not, I'm throwing it out in the street and see if lightning will hit it.
