MCChris Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 Here's who I have confirmed so far. Only 18, and I think there's a "maybe" or two on this list. C'mon people ... let's bump this number up!ctrixie + 1sirDanBadgerDaveEarachemyeyeJohnnyThundersET + 1Bruce919NuclearWesselMike Lee + 1 1/2Hectorp + 1RJoseph133Tomterrific + 1BruceMAs an added bonus, Jim the drummer's cover band is playing Saturday night at a bar in nearby Northwest Indiana, so after the jam we can slide over there and take turns sitting in with them.Like past MWJs, this one's shaping up to be a damn good time! The more the merrier, so come on out!
silentman Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 I was hoping you'd say the special bonus was a current/former playmate of the month could be stopping in.
MCChris Posted March 15, 2005 Author Posted March 15, 2005 I was hoping you'd say the special bonus was a current/former playmate of the month could be stopping in. BadgerDave scuttled that plan with his outrageous "tone down the avatars" thread.
ET_KenW Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 Umm.. Does that mean Jim will not be at the Jam? Or, will he have to leave early?
MCChris Posted March 15, 2005 Author Posted March 15, 2005 Umm.. Does that mean Jim will not be at the Jam? Or, will he have to leave early? He'll be there until about 10:30.
BadgerDave Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 I'll be monitoring T-Shirt messages at the Jam. Please use discretion.
ceeb Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 What's the date again? I've been pondering using some frequent flier miles.
MCChris Posted March 15, 2005 Author Posted March 15, 2005 What's the date again? I've been pondering using some frequent flier miles. April 8 & 9.
ET_KenW Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 I'll be monitoring T-Shirt messages at the Jam. Please use discretion. I'll have to wear my subliminal t-shirt, then.
MCChris Posted March 16, 2005 Author Posted March 16, 2005 Forgot Valvetech Rob (tralfaxsomethingorother). He'll be there, +1 I think.
ceeb Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 I'm not going to be able to swing it. I'm taking a long weekend the week before that, It wouldn't fly too well if I take two in a row

BCR Greg Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 The BCR Crew will not be there, tho with Ricky2, you never know! Here's a pic from last year's fun. We were driving to the airport for our 5:30 departure, and this place was near the hotel. I HAD to stop and get of shot of Bruce, Ricky2 and Skeez at the place named after them.... Oh, the fun we had. Bruce is a class act. He survived an early morning drive to O'Hare with a bunch of sleep-deprived Pennsyltuckians and lived to tell about it!

And you better believe I had to elbow my way into the prime spot in front of the "For Rent" sign!
Hamerica Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 This is a bump for the MWJ. I had a great time last year. The bands Friday night were great. I sat in the back corner and the girlfriends of the band set with me. Hamerica is no fool!! (maybe I reminded them of their father or something) The road trip to the guitar stores on Saturday was great. Many thanks to the Flynns and Racer X for letting us drool one some serious vintage. Saturday night jam was great. The food was good. The coffe was better. I bet I had at least 4 latte's that weekend. Damn, can't foreget about the jam. The jam was great. I got to meet some really cool people from the Midwest that had not made it too CT. I got to meet MR. C Trixie! WOOO HOO!!! I would be there but I have a scheduling conflict. If you have the opportunity to go, don't pass it up. Fun shall be had by all.
RacerX Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Another bump to the front page for the jam! I can't believe it, but, I'll have to miss this one too due to a show (antique slot machines, jukeboxes and stuff, not guitars) I'm doing that weekend out in St. Charles. I will probably be around the Flynn's during the day on Saturday if the store crawl gang makes a stop there. I really enjoyed meeting everyone last year. (Sorry you won't be up this time Hamerica).Anyone who is on the fence should join in, it will be a fun weekend for sure!Mark.
sirDaniel Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 HOW ABOUT A TUNE LIST?So, no Chicago Music Exchange this year? I don't think I'm banned anymore, am I?
MCChris Posted March 24, 2005 Author Posted March 24, 2005 HOW ABOUT A TUNE LIST?So, no Chicago Music Exchange this year? I don't think I'm banned anymore, am I? Yeah ... we need some tunes, people! I have an unrehearsed train wreck every Sunday night at the cafe. I'd like to do something different for the jam, like actually play songs LOL!No CME unless people WANT to deal with Wrigley Field traffic. I, for one, don't.
Nuclear Wessel Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 How about "Walk Away" or "All Night Long" by Joe Walsh. Both tunes have a section at the end where a bunch of us can trade licks. Would you guys rather solo over Am (Walk Away) or an E7 - A7 - E7 - B7 - E7 progression (All Night Long). I can sing either one.I could always do "Want You to Want Me". I'll try it in A this year.Or maybe "I'm Bad I'm Nationwide". There's another tune with a long lick-trading section at the end. C blues scale, boys. I like how on the recorded version, Billy Gibbons used two contrasting guitar tones - a bridge humbucker with an octave effect, and a single coil neck pickup tone - for the jam section at the end. I'll brush up on the words and do the vocalization.
