BruceM Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 HOW ABOUT A TUNE LIST?So, no Chicago Music Exchange this year? I don't think I'm banned anymore, am I? Yeah ... we need some tunes, people! I have an unrehearsed train wreck every Sunday night at the cafe. I'd like to do something different for the jam, like actually play songs LOL!No CME unless people WANT to deal with Wrigley Field traffic. I, for one, don't. Here's a few that I'm willing to sing:ViciousBambi Came Home (With Paint in her Hair)I Hate My JobLife During WartimeI can come up with many more, but I know that stage time is limited at these affairs.
bruce919 Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 I would like to hit some different guitar shops this year. I know of a few over on Chicago Ave.
ctrixie Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 JohnnyThunders & I are working on a kinda revolving Ramones thing - switching off singing & playing duties on a list we've yet to firnly narrow down. I think we've got BadgerDave and George for bass duties??? possibilities are I Don't Care, Pinhead, Commando, Blitzkrieg Bop, Happy Family, Lobotomy, Beat on the Brat, Sedated, Sheena(?) I'd still like to try sitting in on an AC/DC set. I'm either being very brave or very stupid BruceM - ya want another rhythm guitar on Vicous?
BruceM Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 BruceM - ya want another rhythm guitar on Vicous? Yeah that would be great. I'll be able to fake it then and spend more time on my posturing! I'm sure MC Chris will provide all the wanking we need...
BadgerDave Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Carmie,Let me know when you get the Ramones list finalized. Is George bringing a 12ver? I could bring the 8 string and we could do unison 20 sting bass lines!!!!!Dan, Bruce and I will likely pull out a couple of Neil Young tunes - Down by the River and Rockin' in the Free World (in Am - the acoustic version?). Anyone who thinks they can hit the high notes in the chorus' is welcome to sing along.
ctrixie Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Carmie,Let me know when you get the Ramones list finalized. Is George bringing a 12ver? I could bring the 8 string and we could do unison 20 sting bass lines!!!!! Oh yes, the brown sugar 12-er will be there. Wall-o-Sound, cool! Will email you this weekend.
MCChris Posted March 24, 2005 Author Posted March 24, 2005 how 'bout something in I, IV, V... Damn you to hell ...This is starting to shape up nicely. Feel free to e-mail me specific songs so I can learn 'em on bass ... Jim the drummer's partner might not be joining us this year and I'll probably fill in.Don't worry about stage time; I'm guessing there will be about half as many people as last year. Probably because there will be no fancy giveaways and I didn't make an appearance at the most recent Open House, thus attracting attendees with my magnetic personality.
BCR Greg Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 thus attracting attendees with my magnetic personality. Yeah, that must be it.
JohnnyThunders Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Carmie and I will have the Ramone-athone set list finalized hopefully tomorrow and we will post it. I've been out of town and am getting back tonight.
ET_KenW Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Well if we want to go back a couple of years ago, we can resurrect Paranoid and Sunshine of You Love from my very limited repetroire. And Chris, I think this time I won't leave the solo hanging for someone to pick up. As for it actually sounding like something, would be something completely different.Hell, feed me enough Goose Island, I may volunteer to sing the AC/DC songs for Carmie. But those would probably have to be the last songs of the night, as I'll probably scare everyone off. LOL
earachemyeye Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 I have one request from Bruce - "Apologize" and we MUST rock the ending. I would like to do Black Magic Woman (wank in D minor) Alright Now (A blues wank) and I'll try to sing anything if I've got the words and I'm not standing in front of Dan's amp. Joe
sirDaniel Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 HAHAHAHAHAHA....okay then. stand in front of CHRIS'S AMP!!!!
ET_KenW Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 HAHAHAHAHAHA....okay then. stand in front of CHRIS'S AMP!!!! Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!No one should have to face that. LOL
tomteriffic Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Hot Damn! 8 and 12 string bass goodness! I finally get to get my mitts on a couple of them! Here in podunkville, the closest I've ever been able to get is an import Chap 12. I'm with Ken and Joe on their song suggestions, but I'm up for most anything. Not knowing the tune has rarely stopped me before
MCChris Posted March 25, 2005 Author Posted March 25, 2005 HAHAHAHAHAHA....okay then. stand in front of CHRIS'S AMP!!!! Amp? You better put an S at the end of that, son. I'm gonna have all three hooked up.
RJoseph133 Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Good lord...waaay too many bass players currently using Hamers..I used to be the only one...(sniff, sniff)...should I just bring a guitar this time????
MCChris Posted March 25, 2005 Author Posted March 25, 2005 Good lord...waaay too many bass players currently using Hamers..I used to be the only one...(sniff, sniff)...should I just bring a guitar this time???? Simply put, you won't be allowed in unless you bring that Monaco bass. And more bass players decreases the likelihood that I'll have to play bass.

It's never too late to make those arrangements ...The offer still stands for you or anyone else to crash at my place. At this point I think everyone's set up at a hotel.
