Congratulations to the buyer.

And dibbs for better days.

This one is coming my way. To say I'm psyched would be a huge understatement. To me, this is a no-brainer... Imagine trying to spec something like this right from the Hamer custom shop. There's no way it would go out the door for 15! I'm just glad I was able to scratch together the cash and work out a deal with Mr. Murkat. Very psyched.

Very unusual pickup placement - looks to be 'not-quite' bridge, 'not-quite' middle position. Interesting....

Sweet spot, baby.

No ice-picky.

So now that I actually have this in hand, I've been meaning to post.

This guitar is magic... Seriously, I don't know what kind of mojo Mr. Murkat has stashed in his shop, but, gentlemen, somehow I got lucky enough to blunder into a very special guitar.

I'd never seen a pickup in that position before, much less played one, but within about five seconds of playing, I just _understood_. That's where a guitar's pickup is _supposed_ to be. All of a sudden it feels like everyone else in the world has it wrong, and I blundered into the one guitar that got it right. Sure, there are plenty of uses for pickups in other spots, but to me, that 2/3's spot feels like the heart of the guitar.

Not sure how I missed this comment first time around, but I just came back to comment on this very thing. Quite a few of the tone controls that I have used have felt very blah to me... Rolling off of them just kinda felt like... less... I don't know what kind of mojo you poured on this one, but damn dude. Very nice. That little trick at 10 is glorous!

For anyone else reading this, Murkat set up the tone control on my humbucker to coil split when you roll the tone up to ten. It sounds less flexible than having a switch / push pull to tap it, but damn does it feeel right. As you roll it up, it starts off sweet and musical, gets bigger and bigger, and then you roll the knob that last notch (because you know whats coming), and she just starts to WAIL like a banshee. Can a guitar sing and scream at the same time? Because that's what it does. It's really cool... I would never have expected a coil tap to sound like that. Somehow, I have a tone control on this guitar that turns a wonderfully musical humbucker into a sweet angsty P90. I have no idea how you did that. Especially so seamlessly. It just feels _right_. Seriously my friend, you have a gift. Thanks again!

One of my father's favorite quotes he'd tell us as kids:

As I've said before here, I've easily learned more from just reading posts and threads on this board than all the others combined. Its the only one I ever visit anymore.

As an FNG, ^ THIS ^ (being able to openly interact with the awesome members) is one of the coolest things about this board and being one of the "inmates" of this esteemed asylum.
