I will NOT look at guitar-for-sale ads for a while.

But fortunately I had a fund set aside for things that turned up locally, and this bad boy turned out to be 5 minutes from work.

2006 Korina Special Junior. Nice and lightweight, but pretty brash-sounding.

I will NOT think about a Lollar P-90 and Faber wraptail for a while.

that's badass. Tone Report?

It may be, but I'm not. Not sure how to respond - compare it to my P-90 Special, both wide open to remove potentiometer influence as much as possible? Or is there an established format that I'm not aware of?

One of the coolest partsof P90s is to make the Tone and Volume knobs your best friends. I LOVE 8.5 and 8.5 on my P90 guitars. Overdrive the signal a tad north of 6 and yeah man!

Congrats. Lovely fiddle!

Does it have a hot Duncan in the bridge? I would definately put in a new pup. Duncan Antiquity, Lollar, or Wolfetone Meaner or Meanest would be my suggestions.

Does it have a Wilkinson bridge? The one on my Eclipse sounds great and works like a charm. Some think they don't have enough brightness, but that depends on what sound you are after. Korina is a brighter wood than mahogany, so for that guitar it might just be a great match. It sure is bright enough for my Eclipse, with tons of sustain. It's one loud guitar when played without plugging it in to an amp.

I haven't pulled the pickup, but it's got to be stock. I have a Certificate of Authenticity, but there isn't a custom order certificate, so I'm guessing it's whatever they were putting in them 8 years ago. Thanks for the suggestions!

From my forum research, yes, it's the Wilkinson with the adjustable B and G. It actually seems to be intonating pretty well, at least to my ear when I compare fretting and popping the harmonic at the 12th fret. And my first impression is not that it's too dark, but I'm going to live with it for a while and see how my impressions change.

Not that I'm in a hurry to change it from stock. If it ain't broke, I won't fix it. There are so many factors that go into the tone that it's hard (at least for me) to say "it's the bridge" or "it's the pickup" or "it's the wood". My touch is evolving, different amps and cabinets sound different, I could maybe put on fresh strings once in a while, on and on and on.

And now I need to cool it for a while and just play with the toys that I have, so the rest of you have a chance!

Thanks everyone for all the support enabling!

but rock that!

This one was in Alabama. Apparently has been since new, according to the story the seller told.
