ghamerinfrance Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Huge frets are not very sexy in deed for such guitar...Dommage
G Man Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 That's where I saw that satin finished Newport. I dig it in a stripped down kinda way, but gotta lose the "pickguard".
Ting Ho Dung Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I like no dots......I like no dots...........I like no dots..
TBP Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 And right below it is an Artist Korina. Good luck getting him to respond to an enquiry, though. I've never had any luck.
django49 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 FWIW.....I bought a pair of Hamers from him a goodly while ago. IIRC, I called in each time.
Ting Ho Dung Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 That makes me wish I never sold my korina artist.
ib2010 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 I offered him a strong trade, by email, advantage to him, something he could flip super quick, No responce. Super jumbo frets, if i recall correcty, kept the persuit at bay. The satin finish on Newports is very cool.
crunchee Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Someone page a web designer... +1! It's like the old Gruhn website meets the old Mandolin Brothers mailers. And not in a good way.
Russ Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 yup, the site is lame, and it's a bitch to get a hold of him, but I've purchased 4 or 5 guitars from him, he's "on the level". If you REALLYwant to do business, CALL him.
devrock Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 And right below it is an Artist Korina. Good luck getting him to respond to an enquiry, though. I've never had any luck. I've never been able to purchase from him, but did inquire about something last year and he was quick in his response to me. But, you know, if you want to buy something, picking up the phone is usually the better bet.

I'll keep that in mind if I see something I really want there again, but it'd have to be something pretty special. It's probably been a couple years since I last tried, all through e-mail, but after two-three non responses at different times I decided to move on.

T-51Fred Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I'm pretty sure He had a shop in Pittsfield, MA--not too far from me--about 15 years ago. Did some business with him then (if this is him). Sold him an ancient and road worn Fender Princeton and a les paul that he wanted in the worst way, though I could not bond with the Paul the Princeton was something I should have kept. He is lacking in social skills, but a straight shooter for sure. I'm confident a phone call would be the way.
