donplob Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 This was in my collection in the late 80s/early 90s. I played cruises and chaparrals - but picked this up along the way. USA on the headstock. what was/is it exactly?
Caddie Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Arguably the pointest of all Hamers, and thats a high bar. Its a Scepter bass , here's the 6 string guitar modelCheers!caddie
donplob Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 were there a ton of these floating around? I let it go a long time ago - haven't seen another pop up. and yeah - as metal as they got
tomteriffic Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 While Scepters aren't "hen's teeth" rare, there don't seem to be many floating around and even fewer that have survived in decent shape. I'd imagine that a Scepter base would be a rare bird indeed, though.

Hardrockracer Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Dude, I know what a Scepter looks like. But I'm always curious about pics of Scepter Basses. SInce I don't know where the original link points to I don't know if your link from Ed Roman's site is the same. Ed Roman "borrowed" the pic of the 12-er Scepter from Jon. So, is there a different Scepter in the original link?Still, why can't I, as a board member, open this link?HRR

USA on the headstock.what was/is it exactly? So you owned a Scepter Bass and don't actually know it's a Scepter?? Hmm...Just wondering, that shape is so far out that I would think its name would stick. I mean you even remember other Hamer model's names.
mc2 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Ed Roman "borrowed" the pic of the 12-er Scepter from Jon. HRR Ed must have around 50 of my photos on his site, without asking or crediting them. That said......yeah, Scepter Bass are uncommon. I own the pink snakeskin 12ver bass one and a doubleneckScepter bass, moving the uncommon meter to "rare."
