So I was browsing online the used selection of a major instrument retailer when I found this gem at one of the two near me. They had just dropped the price so I bought it sight unseen. It looks great, feels great, and sounds great. I'm quite happy with it. However, the hoarder in me wants to know more about it but I'm having trouble putting my finger on it. It has some unusual features, namely a pearlescent Hamer logo, no pickup selector switch, and no serial number. I've hit a dead end through so I thought I'd try the experts. Thanks y'all, any help is appreciated.

Have not seen that before. Guess it's one of the Imports. Either that or just a straight up counterfeit (for some reason).

For one, it does not show "Hamer USA". The body shape and the neck joint do not look familiar. It looks like it might be a high quality copy. It seems like sometimes the imported copies do have such as the "pearl or abalone" inlays.

It would help if there is a serial number or other ID. You might also flip over the pickups to see if there is info on the back----Or other info in the body cavity to add any clues.

Yep - Stellar. They were also available in a S/S/H and whammy configuration. Late '90s/early '00s import.

Yep, per Cynic's comment, some quick googling leads me to believe it's a Stellar 1. Someone had a red one for sale on eBay and the serial was on a sticker which explains where it went. I knew it was most likely a second gen Korean import since it just said Hamer but I'm happy to know the model. For what I paid, it was still a good value/base platform. Thanks again y'all. You rock.

It's a Stellar alright, but I think it is probably a prototype. At the first couple of HFC events at the factory, a number of import prototypes were available for purchase. My guess is that it's one of those.

Yes, that's a step up from a Stellar 1;

Note the grain-through on the headstock, lack of 24 fretter. Gold hardware. Flame maple instead of the lacewood (oak) top. But is is pretty.

Here's my run-o-the-mill Stellar 1. I should pull i tout of the closet and give it a whirl. Like most of the imports, it's a perfectly decent guitar. Story I heard was that they were targeted at PRS imports.
