velorush Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Taken out of the case only once and that for these photographs?
Sugartune Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Wow. Looks quite clean for a 32 year old guitar. Yeezus!
cornjulio Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 I think they just jacked up the price by 150 bucks, nice folks!

cynic Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 At least one of the pickup/pickup ring combo doesn't appear to be original, and the bridge pickup rout is peeking out from the edge of the pickup ring. Enlarged maybe?

custom53 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I didn't think they still used the Checkerboard Head Stock and Sustain Block Bridge in 1984.. But I am not one of the "Experts" here.. So someone correct me if I'm wrong..

stonge Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 judging by how clean it is, I suspect Peter is checking the log files on his time machine to see who borrowed it to find that one lol.
Andrew Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 They were still using checkerboard logos well into 83. ALL the 82 Specials I have seen had the Special/Checkerboard logo and most of the 83s. In 84 they did switch to the Floyd-Rose Special, stadium logo and no Special logo, but it is possible that "old-fashioned" Specials still escaped the factory.
StillKickinMusic Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. This is my guitar up on eBay. I was searching the web after putting this up for sale and came across your discussion. I'm pretty new to Hamer guitars. I mostly play and deal in Fender and Gibson and some others. As I said in the auction this guitar really made me a believer. The guitar feels better made than a lot of the Gibsons that come my way, including vintage ones. Unfortunately, I don't know the history behind this guitar. I got it from a Guitar Center. But it looks to have been well treated. I'm guessing the year is 1984 going by the serial (4 10016). Feel free to ask me any other questions about it. I'm selling it for $75 less on my website cause then I don't have to anti-up to feebay: http://stillkickinmusic.com/for%20sale/hamerSunburst.html And I'll knock off a few more bucks if someone wants to do the "friend" payment thing on PayPal. Had a lot of people lurking and asking questions on this one so thinking it should sell pretty quick. Thanks!
