Greg G Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Saw this in a music store a while back. One man's idea of a dream Standard. No binding, ebony board, boomers, unique toggle switch location, reverse headstock. Sorry for the poor photo quality, there really is nice flame on it.
tomteriffic Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Foont, was that one in Ace? I know it wasn't in Drinking Gourd
Greg G Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 Cool looking guitar. Where was it? That one was in a Chicago suburb. It was at Dr. Eddie's Goodtime Music. The owner ordered it. The pics are about a year and a half old. I forgot I had them.

wyldbil Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Add a Floyd and black binding and that could pass for Mobster's guitar.I'd be in love if the head was turned back around and it had rosewood instead of ebony. (Ebony makes my fingers HURT! Seriously...)
BTMN Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I would LOVE to see a 12 guitar run of those in the Import line. Only reason being more affordable for me. Put some USA Duncans in it and a set of decent tuners MMMM MMM Good! Where's my favorite Hamer dealer's number at......
killertone Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 That is my idea of a dream Standard. If that guitar ever becomes available I want it immediately. Seriously folks, if you see it somewhere let me know...Please!
Mike_C Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Wow that was made around the same time as mobbies.
serial Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Actually, that one predates Mobbie's by at least two years. I saw that one being built at the factory at HFC 4 or 5. Got pix around somewhere. Mobbie's is a bit more wicked IMHO though!
David B Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 It really is cool to see Hamer still do stuff like that.
Disturber Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 ...Really Cool! But I have a hard time with black saddles. Brefer bone.
killertone Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 This guitar might be mine soon. Details to follow...
cmatthes Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Duuuuuuuuuuude!!I, for one, am pulling for ya!

killertone Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Well...crap. I talked to the owner of that fine guitar and got some more detailed pics today. It is out of my range pricewise. $2500 is just too much even though I know it cost him more than that. Damn....

The owner said that's what it cost him from the factory. Too much for this po' boy.
