To be honest, that is exactly what I thought of EVH on Little Guitars....I knew a dude in Korea in the 80s who wore bootstrap like that....

I also remember a 1979 GP interview with Joe Perry. He said he was always amazed at how light his red Bich was every time he switched to his Strat....

I think that the guy who built Howard and Nancy's mini LPs also built the ones for EVH - David Petschulat, IIRC.

Under nine pounds is the rule for me.  And I've had nearly one hundred Les Pauls over the forty years I've been learning to play.  This one from Greg at BCR is eight pounds ten ounces.  It's hard to put down...

Correct. He also designed and built the inimitable Flying P for Dave Hlubeck, Mick Jones, Nancy Wilson (a V-shaped version), and others. I think he eventually became a software engineer or something to that effect.
