Annoying Trojan

For the last 2 days, whenever I would start my computer, Norton would find a Trojan called Adclicker.Trojan.

It would delete it itself but the damn thing is one of those things that copies itself in your registry so it's hard to get rid of.

After searching Symantec and a few other places, I tried a Safe Mode scan after disabling system restore (you have to do this or the trojan will duplicate itself), I couldn't find anything that said adclicker.trojan in the registry.

I did however find a file under hkey_current user, software, microsoft, windows, current version, run that was called Dhaxi.exe

This turned out to be the culprit. Deleted it and all fine now.

Downoad Killbox. With this cool utility, you can isolate a file and whack it.

Get it off of www.majorgeeks.com

Cool. Cause I hate having to manually find these stupid ass trojans and other url search hooks.

And get rid of Norton. It's a piece of shit.

I get Symantec Corporate Edition and McAfee for free through the military. The reason I'm using Norton now is that when I had McAfee installed, my friggin PC wouldn't shut down normally.

This is where I download Mcafee:

but you have to have a navy.mil email address to get it.

Cool huh?

I thought this was a thread about disliking condoms. I can comment on that.

Why is a guy taking a shit in your sig?

LOL. Does look like it right?

That's Mike Patton formerly of Faith No More.

RE Faith No More: As irrelevant as Courtney Love. Their guitarist (Jim Martin? I'm too old to get motivated to research such) was exhibited a minimal amount of talent, and when Patton would snarl "We care a lot!" I didn't believe him, and what's more, our band lampooned that song, substituting "Who gives a ****?" for "We care a lot" (try it, it fits).

Oh, Willie, Faith No More had a good album, The Real Thing, that was worth listening too for that year. While there was a love-hate thing going on with the rap in Epic, there was some cool jamming on that album with stuff like Zombie Eaters.

Sure, Jim Martin was not the greatest, but he was in one of those Bill and Ted movies. Wasn't that enough to prove his... excellence?

The drummer from Faith No More, Mike Bordin, went on to be Ozzy Osbourne's drummer for a few tours. Apparently there was some talent in the band.

You guys are funny.

Faith No More was ok. They were different. And not a guitar driven band of course. I didn't like the song that made them famous (Epic), or any rap for that matter, but they have some decent songs like Evidence, Ashes to Ashes, Last Cup of Sorrow, Midlife Crisis, Naked in front of the computer.

Patton is a weirdo, but I like him. His other band Mr Bungle flat out sucks with their lounge singer style music.

BTW, I learned Last Cup of Sorrow in about 5 minutes. The solo consists of exactly 15 notes. But it's still a cool song.....to me.

This thread is a good example of closed mindedness. No offense. :P

It started as a thread about a Trojan, turned into a Norton bash and then a Faith No More Bash.

People who use McAfee hate Norton and vice versa, as goes with music styles.

I said I hate rap so I guess I'm a hypocrit. Damn me to hell.

FYI: Borden also played drums on Jerry Cantrell's Degradation Trips Vol. I and II, with Robert Trujillo on bass (another Ozzy touring alumnus).

So did anyone else other than me and Haynie play the hell out of The Real Thing the year it came out, but haven't listened to it since? LOL

I don't use Norton because its a piece of shit.
