Revivals are cool, but they’re toys compared to a late year Ranger.
Revival: Small neck, Japanese made in the ES factory, I-Don’t-Know-What pickups.
Ranger: Big neck, Houston made, Rio Grande pickups.

I had one.  Not on a par with my Japanese Artisans or anything USA...

I get it.  But aesthetically, I dont like the Rangers.  Will forget the revivals (though some are listed w Texas necks?).   Next play.

The Revival is pretty much a Stratocaster copy with the Robin neck.
If a Strat is what you want, there are better options out there - some even from Fender.

Outside of the first Revivals with the Stratocaster headstock (AKA "Original Recipe"), I wouldn't bother with them, unless you're getting it cheap.

I got a nice deal on a 2005 Wrangler Exotic top Koa.  It is pretty flawless.  It has a hot bridge single coil maybe a Muy Grande.

Another old school Robin video was posted.  This one a kid's show.  I was pretty shocked that they only made 300 guitars / year in 1997.

i did not know that Robin made a clone of the National map guitars. I’ve never seen one, are they Robin-branded or I wonder if they were ghost built for someone?

Dave made them under the Metropolitan brand name in the same Robin/Rio factory.

Have had this Metropolitian Tanglewood Custom for years. It’s a monster guitar although upper fret access is tricky.

Super cool! What does the third knob do for each pickup?

Thanks. It’s beer years since I’ve plugged it in but there is a Piezo pickup involved. And huge humbling tones but that’s about it. Maybe I’ll plug it in later…
