*Wanted* Blitz Bass

Looking for a black and white zebra graphic early/mid 80s Blitz bass. Had one back in the day. Feeling nostalgic and would love to find one to have again.

I’ve got an ‘84 for sale (the one from the Hamer Book), but it’s Ferrari Red like the one Nikki Sixx played.  There weren’t too many B&W Zebra graphics made, honestly!

I have this that I never use and am thinking about making some space.
I'm in London, UK.

I have the right Hamer case- but I didn't get it with the guitar, It took for ages to find one!
it has a hips shot Detuner on it at the moment but I have the original Tuning peg on my desk here too.

I bought it as it's a hamer in the UK and they are hard enough to find but my girlfriend HATES IT- not as much as my Gibson Corvus but still

Hi Mark, thanks so much for sharing. It's very nostalgic for me as I had one back in the early 80s. Bought it new in Atlanta.  Would be interested in learning what it would take to get it.

Here is mine.  not a great photo but I bought this one from a great guy on here but he really didn't know much about who may have owned it before.  Was not sure if the finish was factory.  Mine only has the graphic on the front.

 Definitely not the same as yours though.

Black Sides and Back (I think the graphic goes slightly over the rounded edges but i'll have to get it out to make sure as it's been it's case for a while.
I have wondered if it was factory or a aftermarket refin- Anyone here happy to give some more information/ opinons? @cmatthes?

Hi guys, that sounds like factory finish. Mine was black on the back as well, and  like you described rounding the edges. Apparently there were different zebra patterns.

Im 99.9% sure that’s an aftermarket finish.  Hamer did the Zebra and “Zulu” finishes as stock graphics, but although they did do some custom finishes, that isn’t one of them.  Still has a cool ‘80s vibe though!

Thanks for the update Chris- Didn't want to be miss Labelling it if  Ido sell it to some.
It does seem to be a good finish but a refinish none the less

Good luck with your search. Mine will remain mine for some time.  I am always interested in learning if someone knows anything about it.  Mine has Alembic pickups that were changed in it.  They sound pretty Fing awesome.  Still can only wonder what the stock sounded like.

Wow, I have never seen anybody pluck a bass from the side of the lower bout before!

Yep, that's true.  Just meant when I was buying it Rod didn't think it was a factory finish.  Bass was talked about on a previous thread when he got it.

I know nothing about these other than this one IS a USA made Hamer and has the original case which is always a plus. It has been modified so I don't know what it would sell for if it was all original. Price wise maybe ask Chris and see what he says. Anyway, have a look.
