MCChris Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 You'll get way more mileage out of a cord of firewood for less money.
Ting Ho Dung Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Some guys on the forum like their imports. Especially with a few upgrades. I've never held one so can't comment. I also haven't followed the market on them so don't know their value. Play it and see what you think.
Steve Haynie Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 For a little more you might run across a USA beater. If you really like that Korean Hamer $300 is not much for a guitar anymore. Do it if you really think you are going to play it.
Hamer of the gods Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 It's super light and the neck is huge like I like em...
Carl.B Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Check around I think you might be able to find one even cheaper than that. They tend to come up often on ebay, GC, and music go round. I just checked the Music Go Round in Lincoln Nebraska has this one for $199. Dam I didn't realize until after I posted the picture it looks like the same one?
LordsoftheJungle Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 If you just fight this urge and then fight two more similar urges you'd have enough to buy a USA made Studio,,,
tomteriffic Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I played one of these side by side with my USA one. There was a world of difference. Of course, there was a world of difference in the price too. I've met a few early import Hamers that were pretty nice for the price, so it depends on what your expectations and needs are.
crunchee Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Korean Hamer Echotones pop up for sale for about $295 (or less) every so often. I'd be more inclined to shop for one of those. Hamer XTs are OK, but not $295 OK, IMO.
Hbom Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 eBay has 1 starting at $99. this morning. But this theme doesn't allow me to cut & paste so you'll have to search for yourself.
gorch Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 It's super light and the neck is huge like I like em......well, then buy it.If you don't like the pickups swap them to Lollars. If you don't like the pots swap them to CTS. If you don't like the tuners swap them to Schallers. Nothing more to do if anyway necessary.
