Gibson spec fret wire. It's in between 6105 to 6100 jescar. Its a healthy size fret.

Oh, and congrats on the new guitar! And doing the right thing. Both are pretty great.

I dunno - the other one was awfully pretty: I'm with Cary - at first blush it's 'hell yeah' and then the stupid old conscience takes over and you go and do the right thing. Karma is real, but damn....

25.5” scale. Gibson style construction with fender scale and vintage vibrato bridge. Best of both worlds. The Mirage II’s have a thicker body than the I’s along with the non-blended heel. Gives them a bit more of a LP feel where the I has more of a beefy Strat feel.

Spruce top, clean fret board for the win.

Cool (blue), maple top over mahogany but l can’t remember, are these 25” scale length ? If so, it’s a long scale Les Paul in disguise. GLWTS, I hope this one stays in the family.

Amazing deal! Absolutely beautiful 1959 R9 Gibson Les Paul Sunburst Custom, check the serial number for the production year, 932033. If you know, then you know this is one of the best production years for the R9. The neck is tapered perfectly to fit one's hand around. Look around on the best forums, and you'll see people arguing about the best production years, but most agree this model was the best year in recent history until you get back to the actual 1950s! Comes with original brown leather case with purple plush interior. It's in excellent condition, no dings or scratches that damage the paint - the only wear and tear marks are on the headstock from string changes, as well as some unnoticeable marks that you wouldn't see unless you held a flashlight up to the specific areas near the knobs. It sings when plugged into any amp - but pairs the best with Fender Reverb's and Mesa Boogie's in my opinion. I wish I didn't have to part with it, as I love it more than any of my other guitars, but so it goes - so I'm trying to give it's new owner an incredible deal, I will do $4,200 Shipped. If you have any questions feel free to message me; I want to be completely honest and up front with any buyer. If purchased, I will perform a final polish of each part and the finish, as well as fully clean the fretboard and properly oil it with the appropriate product so it comes just perfect to the new buyer.

Highly recommended. Wire that up with a pair of 8 ohm speakers and you are in business.

I am far from an expert on this group, but as far as I know, the on-again and off-again guitarist, Wes Borland, has always worn costumes, and crazy makeup, but he was the only one.

Man, I remember when those things came out at my local shop. Way too complex for my simple mind…

About a week before @Stike got his cab, I had ordered an unfinished Stage Hog 2x12. This right after unpacking. Sections are sealed from one another, essentially giving you two cabs in one... The top has an oval open back, the bottom is sealed with a 1" port along the front bottom. Last night I ordered of Fane Ascensions... an A60 for the top, and an F70 for the bottom. I expect this thing will really sing once everything is broken in! Especially with the Express circuit. Finishing is completed and the handles are in, I only have to get the grill clothed stapled to the grill frame. Oh, and I have a set of beam blockers coming for it as well.

This photo surfaced recently when I was cleaning out the attic. It dates from summer 1970 (56 years ago) and was taken at the Airman's Club at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois (about 20 miles from Champaign-Urbana). The John & Rick Duo was a wo-man band a la Lee Michaels, and they went a step further: Note the trombone by the drummer. He occasionally played that instrument and drums at the same time while the keyboard player played organ and trumpet at the same time. So imagine two guys playing the rat-a-tat-tat intro to "Spinning Wheel" by Blood Sweat & Tears. Unreal. I was hopelessly outclassed. Couldn't find any info on the internet about these guys. Dunno if they did the central-south Illinois circuit or what...
