Quick question about a band
Saul Goodman replied to Dave Scepter's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
The color and saturation for one looks AI to me. Then the "camera" circles around to the dark side of the van/truck and the clarity is not natural. The "sun" is blinding but there's no lens refraction and as it makes the corner to the dark side you can see the trees in the background kind of appear and disappear in a weird blurry fashion. But in the beginning the way the drums make the image vibrate is definitely an effect. Also the outer tread on the front tire isn't quite right (I had to zoom in) and the lugs on the front tire are wrong with 4 evenly spaced and the fifth just kind of filling space. Basically it looks like a cartoon after you get over the flashy presentation and music. But the tell-tail sign was the trees in the background as it rounded the right corner panel. After that I started zooming in to find more details. One was tire identification code that ended with 170R16 which means a 16" rim but that's all I know about tires. So I looked it up. Google came back with 215/70R16 or 235/70R16. I don't know what that is either. But after some sleuthing I found a tire that looks similar: Blackhawk Ridgecrawler. But the treads don't fall as far down the sidewalls. So, either wrong tire I.D. or AI can't quite keep up with those details yet. These are things I started looking for after the obvious cartoon look. I just wanted to see how close AI is getting now. I have been fooled by AI in the past so I'm on a quest now not to be fooled again. I too searched for a Creep video I haven't seen, and I've seen them all as it's one of my favorite songs and have considered a cover of it myself for my own reasons. I thought at first it was the "Oceans" cover. I've heard it before but couldn't remember. Well that wasn't it, and I knew it wasn't Leo's cover, and there aren't too many more covers of it in that genre. I was disappointed because it did sound like a cool cover. -

A '77 sunburst from the man himself?

Only the first few/earliest 4-digits. By the time the Sunbursts were in production, those were long gone, despite decades of dealer and internet rumors and misinformation! It's always possible that somebody put a set of real PAFs into their Hamer after the fact, but...WHY? -
Rainsong guitars - any experience?

Have a rainsong 12 fret parlor. Easy to play, stays in tune, great for the couch or travel. I dont worry about it like i do an old Martin. Feel like sitting by the pool on a hot and humid day w a beer and playing, go for it. Take it back into ac. All good. Row your floatie in the pool? No problem (clearly after many beers). Have not played it yet plugged in but it is sufficiently satisfying as an acoustic. -

FS - Hamer Mirage II Koa Top
Travis replied to Whoismarykelly's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
Nice looking Mirage II. Love me some Mirages. For those who don’t know, the bodies on the Mirage II’s (and maple tops) are slightly thicker than the bodies on the Mirage I’s. This along the the dual humbuckers beefs up the sound a bit and brings it closer to that of a LP style guitar compared to the more big strat sound of the Mirage I. The II’s still have a bit more snap than a traditional LP with their 25.5” scale and vintage trem. But, they’re a great in-between. In my experience, with different pickups and an upgraded bridge (I put the MannMade in my koa mirages), you have a real PRS killer for less $. GLWTS! -
Quick question about a band

The singing is really good, but guitar players chosen notes leading up to the solo, was pretty damn tasty!.. thanks for responding Saul, Btw. What makes you think it's AI?.. I did ask Google if Disturbed did a version, and Google said no... just trying to educate myself 🤷♂️ -

It's AI taking on the voice of David Draiman. ETA: Upon a second look, the whole video is AI and for them to tell you that they, "are firmly stuck in the '80s when it comes to the 'wireless' and all that popular music malarkey! ," is complete malarkey bull shit. -
He was the funniest, off-the-rails online dude. Great guy and did meet him once; to buy his copy of Guitars of the Stars, Rick Nielsen.

A pair of real PAFs would bring more than the asking price. From reading THE BOOK, I think the PAF period was extremely early and extremely brief. This one has the stock DiMarzios I'm betting, with the proof of provenance, it will sell for the asking price. I do find the "Hammer" reference quite funny. -

My personal experience has been that I do less dumb stuff stoned than I do drunk. But TBH, I've done some really dumb shit drunk.

As an additional perspective- and let me get this established straight away 'causes some folks won't take this too kindly- I have been spending a bit of time on both the LE and the HA Cali. Gotta say, by virtue of the Butala neck D profile, 12- 16" radius and the jumbo frets, the HA has a distinct advantage over the purebred Cali LE for my preferences. YMMV.

NOT SO FAST I purchased the guitar saturday morning at 7:29 am got a conformation email that payment was exepted.Called the shop at 4:30 pm and ask if they could give me a discount a Newport they had since I had bought the monaco that morning. He gave me a discount and I bought the Newport and he said both guitars would ship on monday.Today I noticed only 1 shipment number so i contacted them and ask if it was both guitars shipping with 1 number. He informed me that they sold the Monaco III to someone else the day before I bought it BUYER BEWARE -
I've done some stupid stuff in my day under that influence. But they were really thought out, mind you.
