FS/FT Friedman JJ Jr (price drop)
Travis replied to Travis's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
Ok, I got trade-in offers from Dave’s and CME. Gonna take it in to GC on Monday and see what they’ll give me on trade. CME quoted me a market range of $1500-$1700 and offered me a % of that (understandably so cuz they’ve got to take some time to list it, make some money on it, etc…) I’ll do $1,500 for the pair on a local pickup/meetup. If anyone wants the head I’ll do $800 plus shipping. - Today

Fulltone OCD Lux First Edition

I am def a fan of newer gear that uses one or more tubes in a pedal. The Tone King preamp pedals are good examples. May I suggest one other that takes it a few steps beyond a simple OD pedal? This one has gone up in price, what with tariffs and all, but worth considering. Yeah, I reckon I would pass (I did) on the NOS tube upgrade! And used prices can sometimes be very reasonable. As opposed to the one tube OD pedal, it has three preamp tubes for cascading gain options. Use an external 2 button footswitch and you effectively have 3 channels. More or less a D type in a box.....Blackface style clean channel and then "Classic" and "Creamy" channels. Run direct to a power amp. OR integrate with a combo amp to add 3 channels. I use it with a board mounted power amp and minimal effects for a very versatile and portable gig ready package. Good sound examples here: https://www.effectrode.com/products/effects-pedals/blackbird-vacuum-tube-preamp/ -

I presaved this on Spotify and it was finally made available (I'd say "dropped" but I'm not that hip) It sounds like they took their time with this one. Not sure who was behind the production, but I think it sounds great.

I met Matt at least once. He gave me a lesson DVD. I remember him as a nice person.

Regerts? I've had a few. I'd take these two back. Took some pics of these two around the same time. The black one is the best sounding stock Fender I've ever owned (Roadhouse from '97). The green one (allegedly Sherwood green but IMO way too dark for true Sherwood) is the worst sounding Fender I've ever owned. You've had those guitars that no matter what pickups are in it it still sounds terrible? Lastly, the current pair of partscasters. The Stretchocaster II on the right is about to be torn back down for Lake Placid blue and a new tort guard. It has become an absolute favorite (Fender Player II hollow mahogany body - the whole guitar weighs right at 6 lbs.) ChatGPT helped me visualize the LPB version: From: To:

Wow, crazy good collections! Makes me wonder the HFC membership guitar net worth could be.

If we’re going way back… 1989 Charvel 750xl’s. Made in Japan for one year only. Thick mahogany body, carved maple top, 24.75” mahogany set neck with blended heel to appear neck thru. If a Les Paul was built for shredding… The trans red and the CSB in the middle had sequential serial numbers. The plain CSB on the right sounded ungodly….
