  2. Giveaways are the year, no S2 in the serial, using Kluson style tuners: https://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/PRS/Used-2009-PRS-S2-Starla-VINTAGE-MAHOGANY-Solid-Body-Electric-Guitar-122337338.gc The pickups will be USA made rather than their import pickups (G&B?). It's somewhat underpriced but having just bought a '74 LPC Custom and a Santana 10 Top I'm not feeling like picking this up. I personally feel like Bigsby's need a Vibramate and a Reverend Spring to improve the sound, feel, and extent the travel a bit further to get the best out of them. I believe the carve might be slightly different but I hardly study those details and it's hard to make it out from low quality pics online.
  3. Today
  4. Start at 2:30. That's the beginning of the song.
  5. Was doing them 20 years ago at the CS.
  6. Made it to 1:20. Sorry, Saul. Yer down $1k. Regarding Styx, Kansas, et al, Zappa quipped: โ€œThey grow bands like that in the Midwest like wheat.โ€
  7. Kansas was always incredible. Sadly, they moved on to a legacy band now. Within 10 years of joining Kansas Ronnie Platt became the most senior member of the touring band.
  8. He Knew is friggin' great too.
  9. Just kidding, but watch it. This is such a cool song from when I was a kid. So many memories. And I'm still perplexed how so many elements come together to create.
  10. Yes handles up top. I did a quick check when the cab arrived before dropping it off for covering and thought it's sounded very good. Didn't give much thought and grabbed a G12T-75 and a ASW KTS60 that have (both 16ohm) and was pleased with that. Might stick with them but also have a Vintage 30 and an Emi Wizard (both 8ohm) kicking around I will try too.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Nice. I am a long time advocate of the Forte 3D type cabinets, which the lower portion clearly replicates. Will the top half have side reflecting panels inside as well? Or are those cutouts for inset handles? On some I have built, I had the top semi-open, with an oval cutout on the back, sorta Fuchs/Dumblish style and I liked that combination. Sounds so much bigger than a typical 2 x 12. You might prefer a closed back top. FWIW as to speakers, my favorite in the 3D style is the Alnico Cream, but I have yet to be real disappointed in any speaker I wired in it. And such as the CL80 (or Mesa MC 90) work well on the semi-open back. But that is for my tone taste.
  13. Ah, I don't get around enough...๐Ÿ˜‡
  14. The guitar is sold Comedian Leslie jones did a House of Dragon satire on Instagram when Corlysโ€™ wife, dragon rider/ warrior Raynyss lost her life in a battle with the evil Aemon Targaryen. โ€˜โ€˜Twas hilarious
  15. You're making my point for me. The 1st link is a regular LPC for $5,500. A LPC with a longer scale - a special model - priced only $500 more makes sense. The 2nd link is a "'70's style" model for $4,000. Not a bad price for a new LPC, but that's if you want one that reminds you of Norlin era Les Pauls. Some do, some don't, but they're not for everyone. We might see these long scale LPCs down the road at a discount, but for now I think they're priced right.
  16. I took care of this issue by getting a 25.5" Shishkov DC years ago (fuck, I think the order was placed over 10 years ago ๐Ÿ˜ณ). A true visionary I am.
  17. Now that's a sensitive headstock!
  18. Was the front strap button originally on the back of the neck where it meets the body? is there a hole there where there used to be a strap button? Be careful not too offend the headstock, those can crack with even a sideways glance it seems: My ss1 and ss2 both have headstock crack repairs.
  19. Sweetwater has Les Paul Customs for less than $5999. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LPCEBGH1E--gibson-custom-les-paul-custom-ebony-with-ebony-fingerboard https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LPCU700EBGH--gibson-70s-les-paul-custom-electric-guitar-ebony
  20. What about a 25,00 scale? A bit on the heavy side.... Siggi Braun custom shop order from 2007 Ok, more of a Single Cut PRS....
  21. Worth exactly what you paid for it.
  22. Worth the price of admission right there.
