  1. Past hour
  2. No Affiliation Never even heard of such a unique spec, and not sure how it would sound compared to stock (spruce over hog). Cool! https://reverb.com/item/99618968-hamer-custom-shop-newport-pro-2003-amber-52665-with-original-hard-case
  3. If I didn’t just pull the trigger on a Dakota red EJ Strat I would pounce on this. Great buy — hope someone from here snags it (so I can buy it from you down the track)
  4. Today
  5. Thanks for posting that here. I know Michael had been working with him for some years before that fire a couple of years ago. I hope he'll continue building.
  6. Wow, just when I thought I'd seen most of the graphics. Each one has its own coolness to it.
  7. Like a car wreck, I keep coming back to stare…
  8. Plus she’s got trem spring cover and no added string tree (WTH do people do that?)
  9. Exactly. And exactly as it would have been presented in in the fraternity house TV room, 1985, 2:00 A.M. with an unmistakable soupçon of a Columbian brush fire in the air. Absolute and completely made up but presented with such complete and unassailable confidence that no one would ever question the veracity. Absent Internet, one could typically get away with it. 🤣
  10. From his son Michael: As many of you already know, my father, Wayne R. Charvel, passed away peacefully on Sunday. My father was unexpectedly rushed to the emergency room. It was completely unexpected, and everything happened so quickly. I immediately flew to Arizona to be with him, and our family was by his side. On Sunday morning, while I was holding his hand, my dad peacefully went home to be with the Lord. It still doesn't seem real. Many of you knew him as a legendary guitar builder, craftsman, and musician. I was blessed to simply call him Dad. Of everything he accomplished in his life, what meant the most to me was that he was a loving father. Our only focus was spending every possible moment with him and supporting one another as a family. Because of that, we weren't able to let everyone know right away, and I apologize for the delay. Thank you to everyone who has called, texted, emailed, and shared your prayers and kind words. They have meant more than you know. I may not be able to respond to every message for a while, but please know that I truly appreciate each and every one of them. Please continue to keep my mom, our family, and everyone whose lives Dad touched in your prayers. Rest in peace, Dad. I love you, and I will miss you every day.

  14. It's come full circle... Reminiscent of early 4-digit Hamer Standard models—which were originally inspired by vintage 1958–1963 Gibson Explorer 🤣 $7,500
  15. Do you think if Hamer USA had lasted another 10 years, we might find more interesting things to discuss?
  16. Martin signs autographs and talks to people after his shows.

  18. The brief explanation is that "pants" is short for "pantaloons," which were initially a style of trouser but, in America at least, became sort of a catch all even after pantaloons fell out of style. Trousers were for quite some time a separate kind of leg covering held together at the top by a belt or some buttons. Part of the function of a cod piece was to provide an additional layer between your junk and the world since there was often a gap where the two met. A trouser for each leg was a pair of trousers. This breeches (britches), drawers, pants, slacks, etc. all have this plural form due to this history.
  19. Plural character is determined by proportion: Pants are comprised 79.6% by the two legs (52.3% for 7" shorts). A Shirt is comprised only 17.3% by the two arms (25.4% in the case of a long-sleeved shirt). Thus, the majority of Pants are a pair, the majority of a shirt by a single item. Plural is established for the pants but not for the shirt.
  20. Les Paul Custom, Matey.
  21. Every gig in Florida is during tax season next year. Sucks...
  22. Why do I feel like I'm in the fraternity house TV room, 1985, 2:00 A.M. with an unmistakable soupçon of a Columbian brush fire in the air?
