elduave Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Pic for those interested. Logo is yellowed (more like in the full pic, not the close up), there is a ding in the upper horn and a small ding/binding crunch by the toggle. Sold new for $2759 (IIRC), asking $2500 + actual ship. Thanks.
bubs_42 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 PM'ed you! And yes badass. There are not enough Standards out there that are UnB&C'ed.
bruce919 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Where the hell was this about three weeks ago when I had some $$$.
sirDaniel Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 thats better then a 4 digit on my map.oh mano man
cmatthes Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 This is exactly what I was going for when I ordered my first Standard back in '91. I have actually thought about which of my "I'll never sell_____" guitars to put on the block for this one - it's that good. FWIW, Jol has stated that he's not going to do the headstock tip logo decals again. That's a very small detail, but added up with all the other cool things about this tiny run (of 3!) make it a winner. I'm snagging a PowerBall ticket on the way home from work tonight just in case...

Now that I know Chris played it, $500 is my offer! And a generous one at that!
Guest pirateflynn Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Boy, that's quite a top on that one!
Hackubus Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 If I had the cash, I'd buy it, and piss y'all off cuz I owned two outta three.
mirrorimij Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 That guitar is incredible.Chris, did Jol give any reason why they wouldn't do the headstock logo on the tip any more? The reason I'm asking is, unlike some requests, that doesn't require any tooling, extra time, etc. Seems odd unless he is just trying to add to the mystique of the ones that have it.
BCR Greg Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 That's Jol.It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to please Jol.
Guest pirateflynn Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 So what's the status? Did bubs scoop it up?
srvwannab Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I love mine- I haven't had the courage to even put a strap on mine. In a world in which all gear is a "one-off" (just ask the seller)- these guitars are truly unique. They aren't 1 of 200- or 1 of 50. They aren't the (fill in the name of major maker of acoustic guitars here) limited editions that are limited to the number of guitars they can sell- They are 3 guitars built to specs that might not be replicated again. That, in my opinion, makes them really cool. Owning 1 is great, owning two of them would be hoarding... and, oh yeah, my wife would kill me.
elduave Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 If I had the cash, I'd buy it, and piss y'all off cuz I owned two outta three. That would rule. That's Jol. It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to please Jol. And that's saying it nicely. +1. So what's the status? Did bubs scoop it up? It was hot potato for a few minutes but bubs was given dibs by a forum bro. Glad so many of you like the concept. Cheers.
mirrorimij Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 One more quick question.....is that an old school veneer top?
bubs_42 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 One more quick question.....is that an old school veneer top? Brilliant Question! I'd like to know the answer to that one.
cmatthes Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 No - it's the "Standard" current Hamer top (the milled down top).
mirrorimij Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Thanks for the answer on the top. That guitar is a beauty.
LostArt Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 dave I know hindsight is always 20/20 but you should have had a dz of those puppies made wish I thought of it

Hardrockracer Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 FWIW, Jol has stated that he's not going to do the headstock tip logo decals again. So, where else is the logo going to be instead if not there?HRR
bubs_42 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Where it is now is really good placement. The New Hamers are very well built. When i bought the Monaco I have FS I was absolutely floored with the Craftsmenship. Unmatch compaired to the guitars that I have had in hand.
mirrorimij Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I wonder if they won't move the logo because they are inlaid now. Are the Zander Standards inlaid or Letraset?
