  1. A link please? I wouldn't mind to share a couple of millions with the guitarist of my preferred metal band at this very moment.
  2. Guthrie Govan is in his own league. Got chops, tone and musicality for loads. One of the best players out there for sure! I still like Lady Gaga and Grace Potter better though.
  3. Error 404 my side -did you remove the samples from your dropbox?
  4. I'm sorry to disappoint you, man, but I don't really like it that much. I do like the shape and even don't hate the finish... but the Kahler's not my thing. Also, it's crying METAL just too loud for my tastes -wait a minute... did I say that?
  5. I'm telling you Austin, call Mick, tell him what you're looking for, I'm positive he can get you something you'll love. +1000 - Mick's an absolutely dependable guy, and his pups are up there with the bests. I'm actually planning putting a set of Manliuses on my Korina V.
  6. Forgot to mention Manlius. He might have something for you as well. His pups are in addition fairly priced, even if they still are "boutique", USA-made pups. Have a look to this one, for example: http://www.manliusguitar.com/hotrod.html I have a Manlius on one of my Deans and it is a fabulous humbucker.
  7. curious, does this mean you stopped aquiring new music, or that you just stopped paying for it? not flaming ya, serious question. I bet it's the later! PS: No judgement though. I am no saint, and I guess we all (even if many of us are working musicians) still download music illegally. My side, I just purchase albums from the bands I really like, as well as from some artists I want to support for some personal and/or philanthropic reasons.
  8. Been thinking about buying that one for a little while already. Brian May is my preferred guitar player ever, but I don't know why I hesitate so much in buying Kerry's album.
  9. Accept - "Blood of the Nations" (Japanese Edition) HELL - "Human Remains" Ghost - "Opus Eponymous" Lady Gaga - "Born This Way" Herman Frank - "Loyal To None" Strongly recommend both Accept and HELL albums. As of Ghost. they are sort of pop/doom/stoner metal with satanic lyrics. Gaga, well... you know. And Herman Frank's solo album is generic hard rock with a metal edge --excellent playing, vocals and production, but nothing new there.
  10. I named mine's "Lady Tone".
  11. Indeed! Sometimes I actually feel regretful about having sold it, but at least I know it's in good hands.
  12. You're welcome! I've been into Annihilator since their very first album, "Alison Hell", but my preferred one is their second, "Never Neverland", which in my opinion is a metal masterpiece. Sadly, the band never achieved mainstream success. About Jeff's Hamers, just remembered now I owned a white Vector which was very close to his custom Vectors. The main differences were the pickups, which were OBL's in mine's, and the hardware was gold, but besides the finish and those two details, it was very close to Jeff's. I sold that guitar to a fellow HFC'er because I needed the money at that moment, and he was in love with that guitar anyway. Here, some pictures of it:
  13. I know quite a bit about Jeff Waters and Annihilator. He owned two custom Hamer Vectors, which he played from 1988 to 1991 (more or less). Both were all-mahogany and had boomerang inlays. The black one had the Annihilator logo in red. The red one had the Annihilator logo in black. He told me he gave his Hamers away to a friend. No idea where they are now. Jeff has also played a Gibson Flying V and an ESP Mustaine signature, but several years ago, he made Ran (the Polish guitar maker) to build him two Annihilator Vees and two Explorers, like these ones: Recently, he is endorsing Epiphone, with his new signature Annihilator V. I played the red one at the guitar clinic he gave last year here in Montreal: It's a great guitar, but the neck is too thin for my tastes. About his other gear, he is currently using a Hughes and Kettner Coreblade head, a Digitech Whammy pedal... and I think that's all what you find in his pedalboard at this moment --if I remember well.
  14. Pictures taken by one of the previous owners of my 81 camo Vector, which I think is quite unique:
  15. Kev, I will abuse now of our common HFC'er condition: Would you please sell me the limited 2 CD edition, signed by you and shipped to Canada? Of course, I will pay for all the extra hassle.
  16. Very entertaining indeed! My congrats to Mike. I hope his flamboyant personality and his awesome musical skills will fuel some new energy to Dream Theater. Looking forward now to the new album with him!
  17. Wow man! Seeing those monster players auditioning for DT was absolutely awesome. Thanks for sharing!
  18. How thick is the neck? Please, tell me it's film-thin, so I can stop thinking about buying it -Oh fuch! I need to get rid of this extra money ASAP, or else I'm heading straight to divorce!
  19. I hear a lot of rock elements in Gaga songs. And she likes Queen, Led Zeppelin, and even was "caught" buying a Saxon album not so long ago. And she's still a pop star, but a really good one -and a good businesswoman too, no doubt! And yes, she can sing and write good songs -at least, this is singing and good songwriting to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYPZv-1bW_E PS: I also found this, still related to Saxon: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermo...wsitemID=151169
  20. You're certainly in good hands! Have fun!
  21. I think Gaga is great -and I am serious! REALLY!
  22. Well, I might have to give some more spinning time to it. My first impression was the solos were great, but the songs... just ok. Will give it another try at the office today.
  23. Was listening to it this morning while driving to the office. It does work as casual listening and the solos are great, but IMHO Whitesnake's best times are long gone. In short, get this album only if you are a Whitesnake completist and/or have 15 bucks to throw away -it still is a pretty decent release with excellent production anyway.
