You're silly. Henry has a lot of things, but that isn't one of them!

I think these are different guitars than the ones that were pictured in the Gibson release yesterday. The ones shown above in the "Jimipacks" look like cheap-O bolt on plywood Chinese imports. Those were nice quality (solid, not ply) ash-bodies that didn't appear to be suited for pickguards (no channel routing - back routed), had set-neck channels, and the headstocks appeared very different too. Not 100% sure, because the boxes of necks looked suspiciously like imported stuff, but I'd bet the ones we saw yesterday were targeted for higher-end USA models. Check the truss rod access and the carving...these are also 22-fretters instead of 21 fret jobs:

I love the fact that his sister, who was maybe 8-9 when he died and saw him live maybe 2 or 3 times, is so moved by all this. Moved by the dollaz, sure.

It was taken down around 10pm EST. I don't think they were expecting a 95% negative reaction! Kind of shows how out of touch that particular part of the company is - as one commenter mentioned, I'd think you'd see if anybody would want it first before going into full production. An overwhelmingly negative response on the first unveiling is not a good sign. I am not a Gibson basher, for the record. They have many great guitars and do many things well and have for years. I have owned plenty, still own the first LP I bought almost 30 years ago and like a lot of stuff they make. THIS is just stupid.

Okay: Here are (ALL) the comments as of 8:30PM tonight...let's see if they stick around! Comments johnny beane oh yeah! 9/22/2009 12:43:59 PM Report abuse Report abuse Comment required! Report abuse text Matt Does this mean Fender gets to make single-cut style guitars now? I dunno, if I want an LP I'll buy a Gibson, if I want a Strat I'll buy a Fender. Report abuse text John Anyone who remembers and respects Jimi's legacy should be ashamed to buy this guitar. How can you call a guitar a Jimi Hendrix model when it didn't even exist while Jimi was alive? I spend around $500,000 a year on guitars and musical equipment but because of Gibson's unbelievably bad descisions on new guitar models and their unethical treatment of their dealers I don't spend any of that money on new Gibsons anymore. I buy vintage or used Gibsons so that the company doesn't get any of my money. 9/22/2009 2:15:16 PM Report abuse Report abuse Comment required! Report abuse text Jamie The extremely litigious Gibson company now goes around ripping off other companies designed. Let's see how quickly Fender gets sued when they decide to make a single cutaway duel humbucker guitar like PRS. Gibson should be ashamed of themselves. The only guitars I want from "Gibson" are the ones coming out of Kalamazoo since the mid 80s. Next time... Heritage will be getting my money. 9/22/2009 2:41:51 PM Report abuse Report abuse Comment required! Report abuse text Jimi how dare you tarnish my legacy this way! I was starting to get back into Gibson instruments, but with "great ideas" like this coming out of the factory I don't know what to think anymore. Next will have a Danelectro clone? It can be on my list of things never to buy. 9/22/2009 5:02:18 PM Report abuse Report abuse Comment required! Expect to have crates of these collecting dust in that warehouse where you have to stash all those worthless "Robot" guitars! Ever heard of something called "Market Research"? NOBODY is going to buy this junk! 9/22/2009 5:38:05 PM Comment required! Report abuse text Joel I have never played a Gibson that I liked more than a Fender Stratocaster. Imitation is the best form of flattery, and by doing this, Gibson is admitting that a Strat is a superior guitar. I just hope that Fender is above this. 9/22/2009 5:38:12 PM Comment required! Not me! Turdus' band played at the National Zoo here a few years back, but they were over by the Lions and Tigers, and everybody knows those cats love the rock...

No - it's actually an ABM Trem, if my (failing) memory serves me correctly. I've got a shot of that one around here somewhere... That pic came from a true Photoshop GENIUS.

The last word I heard was that the Watson was the only guitar you could still order with Boomers, even though it had Crowns originally. Makes sense, since I don't think Victories would look right on that.

I've heard that the StewMac stuff is good as well. Hamer uses a pretty expensive shielding paint (from Belgium, right Conrad?), and that seem to work great from my experience. Never had a noise problem there.

I knew what that was even without opening the YouTube link! -
The kids could do the voiceovers in any Charlie Brown TV Special, and "Uncle Lumpy"? Well he could do commercials for backwoods local TV. It's the return of A-B-A-B rhymes (and a cover of Sweet's "Fox On The Run", too)

$20 if they're under 12, $25 for 12 and over. (It is Pennsyltucky, ya know Jaye!)

Seems to be that if you want a "Masterbuilt" Cali, the price starts at $10k. Anybody bold enough to give it a shot?!

Saw the Pretenders at the Warner Theatre in DC tonight. James Walbourne was playing a black late '60s Firebird just like that, but with the whammy. Sounded ungodly great!

Here's another slice... Then: and not so long ago: Worth watching.

VERY sad. That bums me out. I consider myself extremely fortunate for having seen him perform live, and he never failed to impress and entertain. He will be missed terribly.

These keep going up in price ..
