  1. It's not just TGP. I've read about chronic problems with SOS at pretty much every forum I visit. I was wondering when we'd have some experience with them here.
  2. Yes - Hamer stopped using that decal when the supply ran out - probably @ mid-90s.
  3. Actually, if IIRC that Virt was a Red Pearl Snakeskin and not the Dragonskin. I'll have to dig up a pic. Can't believe he's selling those.
  4. My '04 serialed B-4 (received in 1/05) had the newer TRC and the black synthetic nut.
  5. I don't think it was that early. I have synthetic (black) on a custom order from 2001, one from 2003 and one from 2004/05. I didn't really notice the switch until '05, but it may have been a phase in (??).
  6. I believe they switched over at some point in 2005. I'll check from home later on tonight if nobody gets to this one beforehand. A bass I ordered in fall of '04 was completed in January, '05 and had the black nut. The M3 I ordered in mid-'05 arrived in October with the bone nut.
  7. My Cadillac Green one has an ebony board, like most all of the Hamers I've custom-ordered.
  8. That's guitar (&) porn, alright!
  9. Yep! I'd recognize that signature anywhere. Definitely Timmy Shoe's.
  10. There are some HFC'ers who own some cool celeb/name player guitars (including a few Tommy Shaw customs). Keep in mind that you would have to be prepared to sell your entire collection and then find a way to multiply the proceeds to even get to the deal table!
  11. Not a lot of them out there, that's for sure. They were only built for a short period of time.
  12. DB: This is really odd, but I just found an old photo of me at a guitar show with a Standard almost exactly like that one back from '90-'91. I'll have to scan it and compare...
  13. Thanks, Greg! I've been out of town since Friday with work, and am just getting back to the office today. It arrived safe and sound yesterday. This thing was packed like a champ, and everything is perfect. It was beyond great working with you. Much appreciated!
  14. Those actually aren't my settings - I ran a cloth over the controls to get a little dust off for the photo!
  15. Bought mine from my local pusher in '89. Custom-ordered from the shop - he did a run of several Boogie amps that matched this one, but this was the only one I could afford! It was a helluva lot easier to lug around this one than the Silverface Twin I had been using.
  16. Not quite a one-off, but one of two. These were ordered from my local Hamer pusher in Winston-Salem, NC, the late, great Sam Moss. He had the first one in when I bought my first Hamer (a Ferrari Red Special w/Floyd). That one was a single pickup (b/w/b 3 coil) in the bridge, 3 tone Sunburst over a flamey carved top, gold hardware, unbound dot board, Standard-style headstock. I had that one pretty much sold out from under me at a guitar show back in the early '90s (I'll scan a pic from that!), and it went to Japan. Stayed there until a few years ago when another HFC'er scored it. The second one was owned by our own David B., and sold to Serial, who was on the trail of that one for a good few years himself. That's the one above with the neck P-90. Around the same time, Sam also ordered 2 or 3 (I forget) other carved top Sunbursts with bound Dan Armstrong heads and various pickup layouts - I think it was a 3 coil, a single HB and a 2 HB model, but would have to confirm that with Steve. I also distinctly remember Sam having one in the shop that said either "SMG Duoglide" or "Duoglide SMG". I THOUGHT that was the first Electraglide, and was surprised that it didn't say "Duoglide" when I saw it in '90/'91 at that guitar show. I've been trying to get Hamer to build me one like that for well over 10 years, but the planets haven't aligned just yet. I'll keep on trying... Electraglide #1 after pickup change:
  17. Very cool, Bri.
  18. If it's spelled "Joel" than you know it's wrong! Pssst...his name isn't "Joel". That IS a bad-assed guitar... good price too!
  19. Something about the timing of this... My son came home from Crew practice on Friday night and asked if I happened to have any Boston CDs that he could upload to his iPod. Apparently, one of the other kids on the team was blasting that CD on the bus ride to the boathouse all week and he liked it. True, some of it is kind of dated (keys, mostly), but there's some great stuff in there, and like Chris said above, it has aged pretty well. I was trying to explain how different that sounded to me in the later mid-70s, but when my son's eyes kind of glazed over, I just told him to enjoy it!
  20. I'll see your "little bass" and put up an even smaller one! Seriously, that is a COOL bass.
  21. That's SO close to one of my all-time favorite Hamers... "E" string extender on there too.
  22. The Black/Fuschia Blitz above is a Zulu finished model.
  23. Not sure the part number, but I have a few down in the vault. I'll see if there's any identifier - basically it's the same as the Gibson 535 cases or the Hamer GC-1 case. I have a Les Paul in one and a Hamer in the other and I think there's a third one with nothing in it (?).
