I miss read the thread and thought it had a maple top as well.

That is a custom order guitar and right in line for what I would expect to pay for that kind of build. Yes you might be able to get a similar guitar built from a board dealer. But I would say that you'd see a price tag that is similar or more for the same guitar. If you like it get it. 2800 and change is a fair price for a custom guitar.

I wonder...IF you realyle wanted a Hamer like that if they would make a lefty version of the 98 phantom custom with right hand controls ask for a kahler since they are being made again and paint it white with matching headstock and there you go.

Not quite how I thought of it but essentially yes. The nice thing is that you can blend in the amount of middle pickup you want depending on where you set the vloume knob. The only drawback is that you can't do a toggle switch stutter.

To answer the question Yes there is a 3-p90 standard but the wiring is three way switch vol for neck and bridge, master tone and vol for middle pickup only. Hamer was willing to put a push pull pot in the guitar but said it wouldn't be up to their standards. The current wiring was what they suggested. It works well and gets some amazing tones.

Beautiful guitar. enjoy.

As Pretty as thoose photos are keep in mine Trans black can sometimes turn out trans grayish blue. but a +1 on the three ply or five or six ply binding very cool and make sure you get it double bound back and front since you are going with a maple top and back.

Very Cool understated and elegant plus the filtertrons rock

Happy Birthday Dave.

Spend some time looking at the Hamer Catalog and looking at Willcutt's for the eye candy and ideas. I would sugest as improv width double bound Monaco III with a maple top and matching carved back bound f holes five ply binding. basically a combination of the Improv, the Matt Smith Newport and the Lyle Workman Monaco. That's my suggestion. Congratulations on winning a great guitar.

SOLE SURVIVORS OR TIME WARP BANDITS

Well I guess that you'd have to include Kiss, Blondie, The Ramones and the New York Dolls to this list. -
A little tamer but in the same vein.
-
Very cool I wish it had binding too but damn it is a wild looking guitar.

I disavow any and all knowledge that such an event ever took place. Let alone with matching guitars. Hell doesn't anybody ever recall the killer version of He's a Whore sung by Rico Suave ElDuave? "Carnac" the perpetrator of Trainwrecks.

Simon the Dog The Hamer bought by Gibson April's fools joke. gerG Stuffy Mufgrass or something along those lines. You look like Rick Nielsen said repeatedly to Steve Haynie

Kidney Beanbursts.

Inventing is taking on the status of half a twenty. btw cool binding. PS I don't know who invented half a twenty.

I'm a bit late but a run of sustain block studio customs would be cool. Monaco and monaco III in non stadard colors or with flame or quilt tops.

Much as I would like to take credit for the photoshop version it wasn't me. A single cut junior has been discussed by LOTS of people. I'm glad they finally got made I wish I was in a position to get one but unfortunately I'm not. There are very cool. At least I'm glad that I have a double cut Korina junior. Takes a bit of the gas edge off. Too Bad we can't all agree it's a cool pair of guitars and move on with other things.

Guitar Center having another sale.

I would agree with you 100% percent if there were any decent mom and pop stores that carried the kind of gear that interests me in the area. Unfortunately There are only regional stores and to me they are just like GC. All the good Mom and pop stores that I've found have been through the internet so tell me how that is any different from buying local at a GC? Like I said for the little things you can't beat GC. Used gear can be found there at a bargain if you get lucky. and if you are looking for your kids first guitar it's not a bad place to get a LARGE selection of cheap strats. High end gear and guitars well if your lucky enough to live in an area where there is a shop that carries that by all means go support them. The closest local store that carries Hamers and other high end stuff I like is in Toledo. For Amps there are a couple of places in Cleveland. Used there are a couple of places that are in Akron that are well worth stopping at and of course there is a store in Kent that has a Good selection of Amps and Gibson and Fender. But GC as the evil empire I don't but that. I wonder how many curse GC but shop at Best Buy or Circuit City?
