  1. If they change the blue ring to red, they can market it at Target.
  2. +1. Page's style gives you a nice primer for many different styles - rock, blues, rockabilly, British folk, Eastern. And all the riffs. Plus, no one looks better with a Les Paul than Page. It looks like they were meant for each other.
  3. Also, in the spirit of the board you should have a 'for sale' room and an 'off-topic' room for Obama discussions.
  4. The brown sugar flametop with chambered Korina body is calling my name. Don't think I can answer...
  5. You could make a Lungcaster.
  6. Good Lord, what a bargain. I am proud to have contributed to your ability to steal this guitar .
  7. Depends on the kind of tone you want. There are some boutique-type versions of classic low wattage Fender and Marshall designs, so you get the tone of the vintage gear without (necessarily) the price. For instance, I have a THD Type O, which is a 50-watt handwired combo version of the Marshall Plexi. I got it from a guy on this forum for under a grand. There are also reissue models. I have a Fender Bassman '59 tweed reissue. In fact, if you want it, it's yours.
  8. I had assumed that Elton was over-emphasizing his pop stuff but I've seen vids of him on Youtube from as late as 2007 doing "All The Young Girls Love Alice" and "Funeral For A Friend."
  9. Great score. Give us a tone report once you get it, eh?
  10. Interesting. I wonder how the P-90s sound with the maple and scale length - I'm thinkin' "bright." Here is what Tortoise looks like, from Willcutt's inventory:
  11. Thanks! Can't place that finish, anyone know what it is?
  12. +3, and, coincidentally, I have one for sale!
  13. You headed through Colorado? Hit Rt 285 around Buena Vista and you see a range of about ten 14,000 ft peaks.
  14. The Scepter indeed!!!! He asked about including it in the article (very long story). Hamer also did one in White for him, same S/S/H configuration (thanks BadgerDave for the heads up on this one!!!). Hamer also made a Scepter for Jack Blades too. Jeff doesn't like explorers, but is a big fan of Vees, So Hamer has made him a few so he could join the pointy guitar club. Enjoy. Peter P.S. The "Red guitar" resides in a very safe place now. How can I get those HamStd@gmail.com inlays on my guitars?
  15. Positive vibes, bro. Hang in there, you'll be in our prayers.
  16. "Half Breed"? Bunghole...make that 2 lame ass Cher songs but whats really embarassing?? I KNOW THE FRICKEN WORDS!!!!!! lol!! Do you know the words to "Dark Lady?"
  17. I think you'll find quite a few here that prefer PRS to Hamer. Why do you prefer The PRSs? I never said I did. I said there are 'quite a few here that do.' There are also quite a few who prefer Gibson. We discovered this in another thread.
  18. I think you'll find quite a few here that prefer PRS to Hamer.
  19. LOL! And down this road we go. Freddie Mercury, Bit Player. Now I've heard everything. Man, you hate it when people break the rules!
  20. He's number 2 on this list: http://www.cracked.com/article_15074_20-be...s-all-time.html
  21. Ah.... there lies the falsehood if you mean financially set for life. A musician is not likely to make much money off their first hit. If the artist retains ownership of publishing etc... (not likely to be a big percentage) there might be some $$$ flow, but it's not what you'd think. No, I'd build it into an empire.
  22. One hit wonder, definitely. I'd be set for life.
  23. I wipe down my strings during the hotter months and sometimes rub with naphtha. The most I can get out of them is three gigs, and that's with rotating guitars each set.
  24. The entire Kenny Rogers catalog!!
