  1. Honestly, it's easy to joke about because, as Dasein pointed out, there's nothing really new or remarkable about her performance. Pretty face, nice voice, adequate but IMO boring guitar work and a lovely rack. Meh. There are a gazillion hopefuls like her, clamoring to get their view counts up to a number that will yield some kind of financial or career fruit. To be blunt as spoon, re: performers- you gotta have more going for you than that to keep my attention.
  2. Was she playing a guitar and singing, too?
  3. Trust me, DaveH, that is the ONLY fan of my playing-
  4. That's funny, SVL! But I'll play: Jack ass, I'll see your sweat pants and raise you a t-shirt and beat-to-shit flannel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj_ArKTxEkE and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wpjdegROeA
  5. I've been fortunate enough to have never been placed in a situation where I was evaluated based on my gear. More I think about it, in almost all cases, I started the band (one way to get around that little issue) and poured all my financial resources into acquiring better(?) and recognized gear after the band line up was finalized. Current band is same- went from a Peavey 1x12 Bandit (?) to a 2 x 12 Mesa Roadster, to a Kustom HV100HD w/ 4 x 12 cab to a Marshall 50 watt JVM over a Marshall M412A.
  6. /\ This. For me, the ground breaker was Richard Daniels' Jimi Hendrix Note for Note. Learned a lot of stuff from that and then started playing along to AC/DC records. It was all downhill after that.
  7. Mixture. I was "self taught" and still consider myself as such though I started taking lessons back when I was 16. Make that 2 lessons. Hated them. So much so that I avoided lessons until I was in my 20's. Still didn't do much for me but at least didn't hate them. Then, fast forward to last 10 years: took a few with a guy who "got it" who understood you gotta put it in proper context- that is, take whatever theory or component that you want the student to learn, that's at the foundation of the song or style he/she is desiring to master and present it as part of song from said style/artist. With the advent of the internet and the plethora of video tutorials on YouTube, I don't find I need a teacher as much. I still pick up snippets of theory and technique and will try to mix them into my playing in such a way as to make them sound natural.
  8. Great Googly Moogly! Is that an UNROUTED Floyd on there? It can't be...
  9. Hope you enjoyed it. But I agree with Murkat. You did not see KISS. You saw a sad, sad shadow of it's former mighty self.
  10. I'm no tone cork sniffer but even I can detect the distinct difference in tone between my maple boarded Diablo and my rosewood Diablo. And plug them in? Yeah. More so. I'm not buying what he's selling.
  11. Was wondering when that was gonna be cited.
  12. Shit. He's wearing Vans. Gonna have to reconsider wearing mine for fear of association with him of any kind.
  13. No, thank YOUSE! Fine work, there!
  14. F--- the top ten; it's a badass book. Mine arrived today and I've already been reading it on the shitter ( much more prestigious than some top ten list on Amazon) and discreetly paging thru it during dinner as the spouse blathered on about her day. Goddamn, that book rocks! Maybe it's me but after reading what little I have so far, I really feel like I'm a part of Hamer's history in having had the unfathomable good fortune to order one of the last 10 or so Customs to come outta New Hartford.
  15. YMMV- DEFINITELY But I agree with G Man's assessment- sometimes you wanna run with that sadness, as strange as that sounds. Maybe let it run it's course is a better analogy. Times like that, especially when they were brought on by relationship issues, Type O Negative's Too Late: Frozen came in handy. When I wanna be free of the sad shit, it's either nostalgic and upbeat goodies that recall good times/places or defiant, unrelenting rockers. As in, I will NOT let this/you beat me down. Again, Too Late: Frozen comes to mind
  16. Just ordered mine.
  17. Yeah, Henry says it best:
  18. LOL One of my faves from the mid-late 80's!!! Classic. And then there's this: Technically extends beyond the 30 sec mark but still one of the best intros to a song.
  19. Ratt- Lay it Down- Hendrix- Ezy Rider- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bbh0F-90N-M
  20. Same thought had occurred to me...
  21. Meh. Sounds like Greg Howe and Tony MacAlpline. Mind you, I love both of those players but the dude shredding Ludwig was pretty true to his source.
  22. Dayummmm. That was off-the-charts impressive.
  23. Must be dolla' beer night in the Crown and Hammer Pub....
  24. Wow Zen! Very impressive shit there, young man!
