  1. Ordered, thank you! In this day and age, you can't beat that price! (Legally.)
  2. Hi everybody, I know that this is a longshot, but I am looking for the OHSC for either a Monaco Superpro, Monaco, Monaco III, Newport, or Talladega. This was TKL GC4-0. My Talladega never came with one. Please let me know if you have one that you are not using. I am willing to pay handsomely. Thanks, HamerCustomEr
  3. I tried a QTron+, but I was not impressed. I am not a fan of the build quality of EHX at all. I have an original Subdecay Prometheus, and I really like it. It sounds great, and has a much smaller footprint than the QTron.
  4. You need the book! Only $38.39 USD. I thought that it would save me money by allowing me to drool instead of buy... but it had the opposite effect! https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Hamer-Guitars-Illustrated-History/dp/0764343521/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3B7JJDAB99X7U&keywords=hamer+ultimate&qid=1684681726&sprefix=hamer+ultimat%2Caps%2C217&sr=8-2
  5. The same bass is listed on Reverb as well: https://reverb.com/ca/item/69282336-1985-hamer-scarab-bass-black I agree that a Kahler on a bass is unnecessary, but I think that any sane player would use it mainly for vibrato, not dive bombs. At least, there is no locking nut.
  6. I already asked the seller, and this is what he said, plus he included a picture: "This is one of them. We have them to some of the team to clean up and finish the build. They aren’t for sale. I spend hours just getting 12 years worth of lacquered masking tape off the fingerboard"
  7. The guitar is in mint condition, as advertised, and it sounds great. Here is my NGD thread:
  8. I bought this Hamer Talladega from Reverb recently, and although the serial number clearly denotes it as a 2008 model, the seller claimed it was from 2013, and that it was one of the last Hamers completed in the New Hartford facility. Here is an excerpt of his ad: “This is one of the last Hamer guitars made in the New Hartford, CT factory completed by Darren Wallace. So much so that there were only Lefty Truss Rod Covers left and it is sporting the last of the Art Deco Grover tuners.” The 2013 claim was disputed on the PSA thread, linked here, but below the link is my dialogue with the seller, James Tsaptsinos. https://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/96871-psa-beautiful-talladega-with-surprising-to-me-serial-number/#comment-1121964 “Hi James, I am very impressed with the guitar itself … [but] the guitar is not a 2013: the serial number clearly indicates 2008. On the Hamer Fan Club website, trafficked by former employees of Hamer, they wondered why you think that this was one of the last two built at the factory.” His response: I am the VP of Sales of KMC Music. The company that owns Hamer. The neck and body we’re definitely built in 2008. It sat unfinished for years and then Fender shelved Hamer around 2013. The only employee left was Darren Wallace. He continued to run the Ovation brand for us and still had access to the factory since we still built Ovation there. He had the means to finish 2 Talladegas. Our President bought one and I bought the other. So officially they were assembled and buffed in 2013. They were the last two finished and it was after Hamer ceased to exist. We had 5 other guitars that are completely unfinished. They are still sitting around. I hope that sheds some light on the mystery. We did relaunch an import only Hamer line in 2018 and shelved it again, too many reasons to explain.” Anyway, this guitar has excellent fit and finish, and it plays great! Thank you, Darren Wallace and James Tsaptsinos! I love the Sustain Block Bridge. This is the first time that I ever tried one.

Downing Vector electric guitar, used extensively by Downing live on stage with the seminal heavy metal band, Judas Priest, during the Angel of Retribution (Epic, 2005) era. Housed in a custom black Hamer hard case containing a whammy bar. The custom red Hamer can be seen being played live by Downing during Judas Priest's The Retribution tour (February - December 2005), including the May 19 concert at Tokyo's Budokan arena that was recorded for the band's live concert DVD, Rising in the East (Rhino, 2005). The guitar can be seen being played by Downing for the majority of the concert, shredding alongside Glenn Tipton on songs such as "Electric Eye," "Judas Rising," "Breaking the Law," the ending of "Diamonds and Rust," and others. The instrument can additionally be seen on the cover of Downing's autobiography, Heavy Duty: Days and Nights in Judas Priest (Da Capo Press, 2018), a photo taken at the Teenage Cancer Trust concert that took place at the Royal Albert Hall in 2007. 10. The Taylor T5 has a larger body than the newer T5z. It also has a 15" radius instead of 12" radius. The electronics are the same in both: five way switch on the top edge choosing between and combining a body sensor, a concealed stacked neck humbucker, and a visible bridge humbucker. Here is some more explanation from the old Taylor website about the subdivisions of the original T5: T5-S Chrome sets the tone for the T5-S, in the form of the tuners and pickup hardware. A spruce top meets up with the sapele body, while microdot inlays run the fretboard. Available in a variety of natural, solid, sunburst, translucent, and metallic finishes. T5-S1 A maple top is the defining difference on the T5-S1. Maple adds a bit more sizzle, creating a slightly brighter tone overall. Dot inlays and chrome hardware are standard features. Available in a variety of natural, sunburst, and translucent finishes. T5-C The spruce-top T5 Custom is finished in upscale gold trim (except blue-stained models) and features our intricate mother-of-pearl "Artist" inlays. Available in a variety of natural, solid, sunburst, translucent, and metallic finishes. T5-C1 A figured flame maple top adds another flavor of tone and another dimension in looks. The mother-of-pearl "Artist" inlay is standard, along with gold hardware (except blue-stained models). Available in a variety of natural, sunburst, metallic, and translucent finishes. T5-C2 Exotic tops say it all on the T5-C2. Koa comes standard, but "standard" is hardly the way to describe this rare, radiant hardwood. Other exotics are available from time to time too, including Macassar ebony, cocobolo, rosewood, and others. Available in natural with shaded edge.
  11. No affiliation. 1994 USA made. 30” scale. Weight in pics. 1.875” nut. Comes in non original but perfect fitting case. $4500 plus exact shipping Spoiler alert: 10.82 lbs. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/hamer-b12s-short-scale-12-string-bass.1606659/
  12. Extra routing aside, you will not find an Eclipse lower than $600 from anyone who did not just step out from a time machine or wake up from a coma.
  13. True. I would still be suspicious, however, because this is the picture with the serial number, arguably one of the most important photos.
  14. That is a good strategy: I once ran into a seller that said that he could not send my requested photo because he had already packed the guitar up for shipping, and I bought it anyway, but then I had to return it because the seller had been dishonest about the nut width of the instrument.
  15. Some very impressive stretches, and a great crescendo from 1:39-1:52. What a monster talent!
  16. Personally, I like the fact that it is a little understated, plus like so many other Hamers, I bet it looks even better in person.
