  1. Ain't that the truth !
  2. Anythings do-able but they'll look pretty odd bearing in mind you could fit two inside one humbucker mounting ring being single coil size not P90 size. Mounting ring wise i've only ever seen them in something like these: WD single rings
  3. I use the Stew Mac stuff and i've never had any problems, even with Kevin's latest which has LED's and a Sustainer !
  4. You get a moisture meter. They have two fixed prongs and they measure the resistance between these points to determine the moisture content.
  5. Looking good Mark
  6. Here's to one of the really good guys, have a great day Austin Jeeeeez, 34, i've got socks older than you !
  7. Project Guitar
  8. They are nothing like a Standard - in fact they're a bitch to play in my opinion. I'm sure i saw a sustain block FB at some point although my mind may be making it up. One things for sure, if they did make one it probably was only one.
  9. Oh, if i must....................
  10. August 8, 1985. Mine was 513729 Just pulled my Prototype SS out and 513163 - do i win a prize for being first
  11. Hope you have good one Rob
  12. Happy christmas to everybody pondside and the Brum Bro's. Hope 2008 brings you better health Mr Platzer. Jem.
  13. Made by Schaller, just contact the importer (s).
  14. "Too drunk to fuck" - Dead Kennedy's By the way, what's an 'Acoustic' ? Jemmie
  15. I'm totally with you on the Ibanez thing there Chris. In Europe i've seen the prices of Musician's and Artist's slowly creep and some of the 'lawsuit' stuff getting up there especially the odd Moderne copy that has come up. OK, this stuff hasn't gone orbital in relation to the 'classics' and is still, in my opinion, very reasonable but there's no denying it's great built stuff that can only rise. Case in point was a 1979 Korina IC300 Iceman that went for £500 ($1000 Usd) recently where i traded mine in for my first Hamer in 1984 and got like £125 after mucho haggling. Also i'd keep an eye out for Westbury Customs, an awesome guitar with one just selling on the bay for over £500 / $1000 Usd, and Yamaha SG 000's - they're all on the up ! Jem.
  16. I've used absoluteley nothing but Hamer since '84 until a year or two back when i started playing out with my own guitars that i've made. Oh, i do have one guitar that's not a Hamer which is a LP Special type of thing by 80's british comapny Fingerbone that i brought off the bay a few years back just for nostalgia as i used to know the guy quite well...but i've never played out with it - in fact i think i only used it once for rehearsal then chucked it back in it's case before my acid hands killed the gold hardware. Jem
  17. Yo Bobby, Yeah i've got one but mine's a triffle weird. The limited run was done in '89 but mine's a '90 with no secondary number. After some digging Serial and i decided that it was a special order after the initial run had been done - nothing like Hamer for throwing a 'limited edition' curveball Jem.
  18. Kaman are actually Schaller importers, i'm sure they must carry spare baseplates. On the screw notion, replacing the screw sometimes works sometimes not but always worth a try but not then a real bodge that i've done once is to get a longer version of the same screw and put a nyloc on the other end and do it up F...... T.... ! Jem
  19. Wyldbil - Nocturne is ME !!! Trundle over to Project Guitar and it's up for GOTM - use your vote, i know your registered ! Martin - all i need is your credit card details as a deposit Austin - thanks, i know we're both on the same wavelength It's first live outing will be this sunday at an open air in South Darenth - the only downside is it looks like my tripple rec isn't going to be fixed in time. Jem
  20. Greg, you may have survived France but have you managed to get ALL the dog shit off your shoes yet - dirty smelly place full of frogs ! Martin, this is what i've been up to: May i present the Nocturne NC1 Body Shot Headstock Neck Another body shot Back Well i couldn't keep buying the bloody things now could i. Never a dull moment eh ! Jem
  21. Hello Mr Platzer, I saw you had a Euro tour going down but i was too busy to see if we could meet up - another time perhaps. Speaking of which i may go to SEMA in LVegas in November, perhaps i'll swing on in ! Wemmie Jemmie !
  22. Hey Jem Where ya bin hidding yourself? Don't tell me your thinking of moving your grail FB2? .....And i'm sure that if any cali's came up for the taking Kurt would be on their tail's like Macgyver!!!lol. I will le you know. cwgatti,i could'nt say what value i put on this as i think the best person to ask would be Serial so he could shed some light on that matter ,but i think it would mostly come down to how much people want this. martin. Oh i've been around. Bands really busy and i've taken to making them as there's very little i still hanker for. I just made a Cali'ish one out of a peice of flamed sycamore, i'll post it or shoot you a mail over the next week or so - it's got an inlay of Dangermouse walking up the board just so it's not too serious Jem
  23. Oi Mart, let me know if someone offer's you a Cali of some description - i'm still amassing..quietly, perhaps a deal can be done as these FBII's are getting in the way. Jem
  24. I stripped and tungued a Cali standard.....it is now my favorite Cali and I have lot's of them!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH NO !
  25. "sparkle red isn't my first choice in color so that would be a strip and tung oil project" Don't you bloody dare - please buy one that's already been butchered, there's too many of them out there as after you've oiled it it's f'kd for life ! Jem
