+1 use the "vintage" or "raw" sounds in channel 2, channel 3 is deeper and has less mids....i have been using my dual rectifier for years, when i bought it i was playing in a post-hardcore band, now i play in an alt-country/americana band and it hasn't missed a step yet. granted i put el34s in for power tubes and i do like that much better but that is a matter of taste. HOWEVER, i will say that these amps take some getting used to, especially with how the controls interact, so for this fact alone coupled with my assumption that you won't have a lot of time to mess with settings, why not just bring your bogner head? ...and then i re-read the last part of your post and answered my own question

Where's the serious metal with decent vocals?
Ethan replied to Jack C's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
check out saviours and baroness...baroness has vocals a bit more on the rough side but you might like it, their riffs make up for it. saviours has more of an old-school sabbath feel that's updated a bit...sludgy heavy grooves! -
which hamer did the boss buy?

those asher lap steels look so cool!

you are a scholar and a gentleman, good sir

do you still have the pictures? ps I got this album in high school and played the hell out of it back then...I should get it back out and give it a listen. That melody that comprises what i consider the "chorus" of Coast to Coast sends chills down my back!

Hello, I am looking to sell my EH LPB-1 clean boost pedal...it's a cool pedal but just didn't do what I was looking for, which would be more of a gain boost than a clean boost. It's in great shape, I haven't had it for that long, and it's all original save for a bit of velcro on the bottom. $25 shipped...thanks for looking!

bouncing souls-do you remember? it's really a documentary dvd with a bonus disc of just about every song they'd recorded up to that point played live, but its a great package. I know there might not be many fans on this board of this band, but the bouncing souls changed my life!

most of the time when i've looked into endorsement stuff, they've required that you are signed and have above a certain number of shows a year...can't hurt looking into.

i think if they put the knobs on a curve like the holes are then those duotone guitars would look way sweeter....one mans opinion

"I missed the half-time show and regret it. I haven't watched the Super Bowl in years. I was at work today and my co-worker was bitching about Prince playing the half-time gig. He is only 22 and i understand in a way because Purple Rain was before his time. But still,it couldn't have been worse than Justin Timberlake. I am convinced that the present generation couldn't hear the difference between a car crash and a rap show and discern the difference" born in 1984 here, prince might have been before my time as well as a lot of other greats but that doesnt keep me from liking his music! sorry your coworker is a tool but some of us deserve a little more credit!

My main guitar for quite awhile now has been a 99 SG Special with an ebony fretboard....I only paid about $650 for it but it's just one of those guitars that speaks to you and does everything that you want it to do the first time you play it--I would look around at some and try a bunch out, like any Gibson. If I were to buy a new one from the store I'd get one of the SG Classics with the nice fat neck and the P90 pickups.

Opinions/price advice on Hiwatt Studio Stage?
Ethan replied to polara's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
uh you didnt hear this from me but there is a good chance you could get it with that offer, unless it has a price tag that says "vintage" on it-those prices are set in stone. As to policy, they have to take it back within 30 days if you are not happy with it. -
my condolences man...

Purty ones to look at, the dirty ones to play with
Ethan replied to polara's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Man I really have been wanting a Gibson RD for some reason for the past 8 months...maybe its all that Third Eye Blind and Foo Fighters I listened to when I was younger... -

Ethan replied to polara's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Thats why I dont buy real expensive or super nice guitars...after the last show I played, I practically had to take my SG apart and clean every piece to get all the encrusted sweat off of it. I wouldn't wanna do that with a 10-top PRS or something. -
I think that some of the guitars Hamer makes now are fine for metal, but maybe they just dont push it that way. I remember 3 or 4 years ago or so when Ryan Primack from Poison the Well (one of my favorite and I think one of the most unique sounding heavy bands out there today) was using just the import Hamer Studios and they sounded great for what he was doing with them. I dont think that the state of music is such that you need 24 frets, superhot pickups and a Floyd Rose to play metal guitar so much anymore.

Brooks where are you guys playing on the 3rd?
