There's several clubs in Austin, all on 6th and Red River. Redeyefly, Emo's (hard to get in there) , Encore Club, Red7, Big Dogs or something like that on 6th... In Houston we've played Fitzgeralds, Rudyards, Warehouse Live. About to play Cardis in Pasadena, and The Hot Dog Shop in Houston. What kinda music you guys play? Metal? -

Anyplace to play in Beaumont? -
Hey guys, we're looking to play in NOLA in October, early November, my old band deadhorse used to play Zeppelins, is that still the place for metal/thrash bands to play? Also we're coming from Houston and would want to play NOLA on Saturday night and Lafayette or Baton Rouge Friday night, any clubs in either of those you'd recommend and have contact info? Check the pasadena napalm division myspace link below to check us out. Thanks in advance.

Memorable SINGLE chords for song intros

I know I'll get flamed, but I always thought the intro chord progression to Crowded House's Don't Dream It's Over was pure genius. At least I think it is. -
My absolute favorite Rush CD. Finally going to see them in September, they're playing Moving Pictures in it's entirety. Stoked!

Well, then let me say Thanks for all you do and your sacrifice for the Greatest country in the world. I told you both of my Brothers were in the Navy.
-
Nice collection, don't see the X2N anywhere....Still in the Navy?

Sounds like Queens of the Stone Age doing "School's Out" by Alice Cooper..... The music is secondary, it's the actual video that you need to watch.

I like this a lot better.

After much reading about Wahs after my early 90's Crybaby was stolen, I bought 3 new wahs. A Dunlop Crybaby that has the Fasel and is supposedly true bypass ( which I doubt is the case), a Dunlop Crybaby from the mid 90's and a Ibanez weeping demon Wah. Well, I sold the Crybaby with Fasel, kept the mid 90's, oh and it sucks some real ass, one of the worst Wahs I've ever heard. But at some point I plan on sending it off to have it rebuilt. But the biggest surprise was the Ibanez WD7 wah, that thing is SICK sounding. Even my bass player was "What the hell kind of Wah is that? It's SICK sounding, Keep using it!!!" It's got all these adjustment knobs, it's super tunable and has a setting when you put your foot on, it's ON, and off when you lift your foot. It's about 90 bucks, or 50 used. I'd recommend one to anyone looking for a cool sounding wah.

Here's probably the best advise I can give you, I've had my share of opening for Big bands like Carcass, Prong, Napalm Death, Sepultura (the original band during the Roots tour, SOLD OUT), Motorhead, Obituary to name a few. Anyway back to the advice, about 30-40 minutes before you start playing drink two pints of beer, your choice, (I like Guiness or Newcastle) and about 5-10 minutes before you hit the stage drink ONE Irish Carbomb, it's very important to only drink one Carbomb and 2 pints, if you drink 3 pints and a carbomb, or 2 pints and 2 carbombs you'll put yourself in jeopardy of being to loose. Anyway, that's what I do and it works like a charm.

I saw them in Austin last year at "The Backyard", can't remember which songs but they had to completely stop playing two songs after 15-20 seconds, drums were ahead of everything else. A friend was head security at the venue and told me that when they went off stage after their set, that Billy told the tour manager that no one was allowed back stage till he, dusty and Frank had a little talk... My friend said he could hear lots of yelling and little talking.
