  1. Wasn't Frank Beard all sorts of Coked out during this time? That's what I heard from someone close to Billy Gibbons.
  2. So what's the deal with Andy Partridge? I've read he has severe stage fright. He used to take valium to cope but his wife threw hes pills away... Uh, gee there's other non addictive meds out there for that sort of thing right?
  3. Kind of hard to do that when Hamer doesn't give out endorsements... Robin doesn't either. I guess some companies just don't want to get bigger. Free guitars do not guarantee anything other than the company is out of a guitar. Paid endorsements can get expensive. Tell that to Fender, Gibson, PRS, Ibanez, Schecter, ESP and Washburn...

  5. Have a good one Kiz!
  6. Yes, Converge and High on fire.
  7. WAS going to see them on November 13th, but my band has a gig in Corpus Christi the next night, gotta leave Austin around 2pm not going to get back till Sunday afternoon. Wife will hassle me too much. Will be the first time I've missed them since the Leviathan CD...I am going to see Dweezil Zappa's Zappa plays Zappa the following Thursday. Real Stoked about that.
  8. I love Motorhead, my old band Force Fed opened for them, it was US and Motorhead only. My two favorite CD's are Orgasmatron and Sacrifice. I guess my favorite song of theirs is Killed By Death. Well, you said let's talk about Motorhead.
  9. Dayum! Why? Where are these deals when I'm looking for a freaking beater?!?
  10. Lending guitars...Is a BAD idea. That said, I change pickups a lot, and I mean a LOT. I have a buddy who has a very high taste in equipment, especially amps, Diezals, Cornfords, Engl SE's, Elmwoods, and his newest amp is a $4500.00 Wizard... I could never afford one of these, but he'll let me take one to band practice...So when I get a new pickup he wants to check out, I always let him borrow my guitar(s). But he does not gig, and doesn't take his equipment out of his house, so I'm fairly comfortable with his using my gear.
  11. Listen to me grasshopper...^^^^^
  12. Get your amp back, give the buyer his money back.
  13. I don't think Hamer needs to cater to metal guys. The last time I checked out MTV's Headbangers Ball a mass majority of the bands were playing Les Pauls, SG's, V's and Explorers. Very few were using Ibanez type guitars.
  14. Well, the last time I saw a 79 E2 2 hum model was a month ago, a buddy of mine owns it. Never seen a 3 hum model.
  15. Are they not built as well or are they just that much more complex? I mean, as I said, my IIC+ has 7 knobs on the front where the V has 20 or so! All that switching of power sections and mini toggles changing circuits - there must be a TON of wire and accompanying connections in there. More stuff to go wrong, yes, but I'll wager the actual QC at Mesa is still pretty good. Maybe not built as well as the earlier MK series stuff (with those big, shiny double-sided PC boards), but pretty solid I'd wager. Their stock tubes are often suspect, however. Z All I know is I've never had one problem with my .50 cal, Studio preamp, MKIII's from the 80's. Are there Dog MKIII, .50's or other Mesa Boogie from the 80's, probably. I bought a Dual Recto brand new in 1994, right out of the box the fx loop did not work. Had to send it back to Boogie. My amp repairman is a certified Mesa Boogie tech, the only one in Austin, owns his own amp company Austin Tone Lab, He's one of the most knowledgeable amp guys I've ever talked too, he's friends with Randall Smith, and Mike Bendinelli, has called Mike while I was at his shop... He told me that he's repaired 20 times more Boogies than he ever has, that all the LDR's, simul class, modes, switches, half power, tweed power etc. is just too much stuff going on. Remember when you got you're MKIIC's? How long did you tweek your amp before you were completely happy? A few weeks, months? My.50 cal took me a year to figure out, same with my MKIII's. The new Boogies, you can get a good tone out of in 15 minutes (on 1 channel). And I agree, the stock tubes do suck.
  16. I won't be buying one. Frankly I'd rather stick with my .50 Cal+ or my Studio Pre/2:90 rack set up. Plus, the fact is that Boogies aren't built as well as they used to be. But I guess that's what happens when you sell millions of amps, the QC goes down instead of up.
  17. Happy Birthday guys. May I suggest the new Guinness 250 to you both, you deserve it. And Kurt, go out and get a new amp today!
  18. Highway to Hell-AC/DC Back in Black-AC/DC The first 4 Metallica albums/CD's {Remission- {Leviathan- MASTODON} {Crack the Skye- Necrotisism-Carcass You Bought it, You name it-Joe Walsh Wish You Were Here-Pink Floyd
  19. Mesa 3 channel rectumfriers....Suck. I liked everything about my 3 ch triple recto except the tone.
  20. Wow, one by one they're just about all gone. Was just having a conversation with the other guitarist in my band about how underrated Gary Rossington is, and Collins, and told him I thought I could hear their style in our playing, He said yea, except we suck!
  21. I would buy one of those V's with the Floyd Rose...in fact I may have to think about selling my Gibby V... hmmm..
  22. Have a great one Greg!
  23. mines black, not messed up at all, just wondered if the Schaller was better. OK, how much for the valley arts then?
