  1. Thats OK, I know where I stand.
  2. what do you have against fingerstyle players? BTMN, take Nathan off the list. SOB, Picks, Pic nobody would read my posts if I didn't F### them up.
  3. Good Call, if any of us had better vibes about the whole deal it would be gone by now.
  4. Both of mine Mahogany Standards were in that range. Always mind bogling when I pick up a strat that is heavier than a Standard.
  5. not for $2900No, more like $2200 shipped which is what I want out if the Tele. Only if its a good weight and made of Korina, then i'd be in.
  6. Remember PICKS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!
  7. What Kiz's said or just find anything that is not painted, which isn't easy.
  8. The Silhouette Special's are great guitars. I have played many of them since we have a dealer in town. I have purchased 2 used from GC and sadly both of them were duds. Not so much in the quality but more "abused" than "used". I also had a Very Early one just like Keith Richards used with the Stones. They were different beast but I would say they have improved over the years. Necks Profile, Radius, Frets all feel comfortable when you play it, more like and old friend than a shred machine. Just a note that the routes are shallow and they can only except true single coils (No Stacked Coils) and short legged humbuckers. I am just not a fan of Modern Dimarzio's, and if you want to swap for a Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge you may have to fuzz out the pickguard around the edges a bit. Route for the Special to my knowledge is still HSS under the guard. They have there own sound, its not a start or a tele sound. Best work I can think of is they are "Airy" Sounding.
  9. If you like the JB but it is just to aggressive, I would try the Custom 5 or the Custom Custom. You'll get tons of suggestions but the best thing is to just buy a couple of different ones and try them all out. Jim Wagner Pickups are also a good choice. I would start with the Custom 5.
  10. Some missing pieces have arrived. Pearl Buttons, New Guard and the mystery package All I need now is 3 Hamer Pots and a 5 way switch and a tap switch. The pups are NOS from 09 and single coil'ISH.
  11. Totally a Vintage Vibe but with Custom Shop Quality and a 14" Radius Fretboard. I don't have a picture of my Green one but here is the other 3.
  12. Holy Smokes! That is SUPER HOT!!
  13. This guitar needs pearl tuning pegs. Heading off to the music stores tomorrow to look for pickups locally. I'm thinking Dimarzio Area Pups, I want noisless and I lilked the Dimarzio Blues and Blues II that I used in my White Daytona. Like them yes, loved them no, I missed the sparkle. I need to find that beefy, snappy, sparkly set.
  14. Pictures!
  15. Porkloin and Sparkledrive are two of my favorites. Maybe its time to buy the Sparkledrive MOD.
  16. Hum, clean channel on the Budda, TC Sparkbooster, makes a pretty damn good Strat Tones. Now how to lay some dirt on top of that? FET Driver maybe?
  17. So I broke down a couple of weeks ago and bought a Daytona. I went down to the local shop where it was, Trans Red, 7'ish pounds, completely stock and as close to NOS as i've ever seen. Gentlemen came in and sold it to the store because his son is grown and didn't want the guitar. He purchased it new for his son and he never took it up. Little pick action above the guitar and maybe 2 tiny tiny dings. The pick guard and pickups are not even yellowed. Only thing I want to do is change the pups, but i'll do a complete guard swap so I can put it back no harm, no foul.
  18. Lesson #1: Just because its cool doesn't mean you need it. Nathan that guitar is simplicity at is best.
  19. I'm going to keep bumping
  20. Back to the Top from Page 3.
