  1. Nice Snag... ROCK ON!
  2. Natural with dots!...
  3. KILLER !!!. I was going to take pictures of my Stable, because I just recieved my Lightburst back.. But then I took the Darkburst in today to have some TLC done to it. Hopefully soon i'll have them all back and in shape.
  4. Just be prepared for a group shot after the Rain breaks... I recieved my Lightburst back from BCR..
  5. Congrats, look great!
  6. You're welcome to use this if you don't want to travel with one of yours...
  7. You'll be find, with the Recto David. These guys are leading you in the right direction with the voicings.
  8. Thank you. I took a million shots this time and picked out the best ones.
  9. If it makes you feel any better, that Standard has Gregwinds in it. After not playing it for awhile, if sounds fantastic with those pups. I'll say it again. GW Neck is my favorite neck pickup.
  10. Perfect! I couldn't agree more. After I took that picture I thought to myself "Damn that's one of the best pair of guitars I've seen" IMHO of course.. Well one of our fellow HFC'er has a set better that this with Crowns. We also know of a Very Lucky man that has a TriplePLay. I think I will go bump the Sunburst Thread now.
  11. Yes they do. I like have the flame starts and runs right off the body. Someone here even has one that was put on slanted. A natural one at that! Those GregWinds need to get dirty. Too Clean...
  12. I really do not plan on selling any of them. I do intend on buying more unless they find a cure for G.A.S. Hey Velorush, that one still kills me. Good looking Special, I haven't got one of those yet. I'm shooting for an 80 with a medium neck.
  13. Missing my Lightburst, so I pulled out my Vintage Hamers cleaned them up rehydrated the humidifiers. So I thought why not, these seem to be the flavor of the week for some. To compare them to the new guitars is like apples to oranges. They aren't better as far as the build quality they just have Vibe, Mojo, JuJu. Thats why I buy them. I just like Old Guitars that I can afford. I repect them and I thank all at the HFC that have passed them along to me. They are in good hands. More Pictures.
  14. Hands down, best quilt I've seen, IMHO.. It's perfect!
  15. I think I have the Bridge Sound down, but with the Dimarzio PAF, I can't get the push and clarity that I want in the neck position. I'm trying, and the Darkburst is a very good sounding Sunburst. Actually the 81 that I sold had a great sound out of both the bridge and the neck. The neck was actually louder. I just didn't get along with the neck. Little narrow more like a Strat, that an LP. Your making me regret not buying that Black Sunburst you sold.
  16. HA! You don't hear that opinion very often. I still am convinced that I get a 'good' LP tone out of a Sunburst. Definitely, my favorite guitars! Well, next to that one LP, that was an accurate description. I think the Sunburst does a Hell of a Humbucker Rock Tone. It just can't pull off the LP Neck Tone Stock. Those old Sunburst are a plank of Mahogany with a pretty top, that doesn't contribute much to the tone IMHO. SO you get a wonderfull full warm tone. Combined with the Paf in the bridge and the Sustainblock is were the touch of Glass comes from. It equals out to a well balanced, players guitar. That is why I have 3. I would by another one if the right color and top came about in a heartbeat. All we need is just a few more guy's Mr. Flynn and we could do a HFC run of Sunbursts...
  17. Hey you lucky guy's. I just spent some time with my 70 Darkburst, 58 Reissue, and SG Reissue VOS. They are different in the spectrum of "Thickness" in the tone. The LP was a little more "Open" than the Sunburst. The Sunburst was "Beafier" just a tad more bottom end, but they just can't do the Neck pickup Sound of an LP. The SG had more "Highend" than the other two but still had good midrange. All three were great sounding guitars. The SG had Pafs, the Sunburst had Stock Dimarzio's Pafs, and the LP had Burst Buckers #1,#2. Anyone has a question more specific I'll try to answer it. My think with SG's and will most Gibsons is you got to weed out the good ones Tonal Wise. I have played 3 Les Pauls in that I would consider owning out of a ton of them. I know were the 3rd one is and its the 58 that I just played. Chopping at the bid. Its a 58 Vos in Icetea, but a plaintop. Onlything holding me back. The SG's can be Heavy don't let them fool you. Edit, Sorry if there is any Grammer issues. Gotta go to work...d
  18. That's a shame. She was originally billed as the female Jonny Lang, I think they share a management company. He also had some substance issues and is now clean and attempting a new career as a "christian" artist. Just so happened that I bought the new Johnny Lang Cd as well. Not digging it. It's not his playing its his voice that doesn't do it for me. Glad she cleaned up. She sounds good.
  19. Yep, the darker line in the center is the grain running in the oppisite direction. Doesn't make it any less cooler.
  20. I remember #0051 well-KILLER neck on that one! I had it for 8 years or do and had the original pickups in it-I thought they sounded amazing in there. The head repair was a lot uglier when I owned it- BCRGreg did a great job fixing the fix. The Original Pups were long gone, by the time I got it. BBQ in the Bridge and Texas in the Neck. Sound awsome. Right now I flpped between this one and my Blonde Daytona. But evertime I pull the 79Darkburst out of the case that guitar just has the Look!... But some guy in PA. has my Lightburst and evertime I get a guitar back from that guy I can't put it down...
  21. Great version of "The Weight" on that record! Yes, I was exellent. I really, truely love the Record. Great stuff and I'll keep my eye out for more. I also picked up Chris Duarte Group's TEXAS SUGER.. another great record. These were not at least for me sure things. So I took a chance with both of them and I would recomend them to anyone. Duate is a badass! Great cover of "Just kissed my baby" on Texas Sugar Strat Magic! BTW Curfman has a new record out, haven't heard it though... That's an awsome song! That disc was a great find. The local Co-Op Records has 2 of his latest discs in the "NEW" sections. As for Shannon, I'll definetly get another of her records to see what's she's up to now. That disc is from 2000 and I opened it up tonigh to look at the booklet and It's autographed. Someone must have bought it at a show. If you like that song check out The Meters... Checking them out on Youtube, that good stuff. They cover alot of ground.
  22. I love mine, sadly the other Sunburst don't get played as much... The necks are Fat and awsome. Mine has a repaired headstock but it plays great !
