  1. Your white machting headstock special does NOT have a skinny neck 😉 This is very unusual compared to most 80s specials I've owned and played. The neck has a hefty thickness but I don't think it's any wider than most of the other specials. I acutally compared yours (when I owned it) to another one, a 1982 graphic special and the width was pretty much the same, in terms of the deepth/thickness of the wood the 82 was noticably thinner.
  2. As some of you may know I'm a big fan of 80 hamer specials, had a few of them, still have one and took inspiration from them when I talked to the guys at Nik Huber about ordering a Krautster. These Krautsters are great guitars in general, the neck is rather beefy, feels amazing, one humbucker (splitable), one P90, flat top, bound body. The reason I got in touch with Huber was that I was hoping to order a Krautster with inlays based on my drawings just like my Shishkov V has them. The drawings on the Krautster are based on fish bones, the idea behind this being that the neck is like a dead river to me (my last name is supposedly medival German and a literal translation into English would be something like "evil river"). Obviously all of this is a little tongue in cheek. Anyways, the wonderful people at Huber did it, using bone and an ebony fretboard ona maple neck. The guitar is white with a matching headstock and it's a wonderful intstrument. Got to play it life most recently, didn't have to retune it once during a 50 minute gig. The open pore finish on the flamed maple neck and mahogany body feels great, the guitar weights a little more that 3kg, it's like a modern day interpreataion of a Les Paul Special or a Hamer Special. It's my current favorite. Here are a few images and a link to a simple live video and a Spotify link (we are currently releasing a new song every six weeks).
  3. This was listed before under a different address, with a very different price (much lower) but same pretty vague description of the guitar. The word "scam" comes to mind. I just checked. Apparently the post is deleted now.
  4. Never heard of that as a finish for a guitar but these look absolutely fabulous. I'm a little jealous now 😉 ...and inspired :-)
  5. Pretty sure he did, there was also beer ;-). I believe he started with a photo of himself in front of roughly 2 billion people at a concert but the talk (that he will have given a few times) was mostly about his business ventures. Afterwards, when it was just a few people it was more personal. I rememember him saying he had no use for a second home, that he was just living in London, that he would take the tube like everyone... came across as a great guy to be honest.
  6. A few years back I met Bruce Dickinson when he was speaking at a friends's company in Dusseldorf. He basically talked about his business ideas mostly outside of Iron Maiden. It was packed, lots of people asking him to sign Maiden stuff (even though they were not supposed to, apparently) but after the talk we got to hang and we "sampled" a variety of local altbiers from Dusseldorf. It was maybe six or seven of us and Bruce and he was the most relaxed guy, really fun to talk to and they were just about to release a new beer. In the end I even took a picture, total fanboy that I am. Hell, what can I say, I even liked Tattoed Millionaire when it came out🤣
  7. I like the black tuners! The Nik Huber I was talking about last year has yet to materialize but I know they are working on it and it will be white too. Should have waited with the selling of this special😜
  8. Congrats Mike, this looks great! I hope I get to try one somewhere down the road. The saddles seem pretty similar to the sustain block ones and I'm a big fan of sustain blocks :-)
  9. Mike, I'm sorry to hear this and I hope you'll feel better real soon. It seems like ages ago we came to see you guys but I still remember being so excited about all the new guitars in the making. So here is to a speedy recovery and all the best to your family.... C. (Shishkov No 80)
  10. My wife and I went to see Mike and Trish two weeks ago. I'd never been to a luthier before and with Mike's long history at Hamer and now having started his on brand I just knew I was in for a treat. I got to see what he is currently working on and I have to say I was more than excited. Mike and Trish let me choose the top for my Shishkov, I got to play what I believe must be one if not the original DC-Custom prototype (signed by Mike on the back of the headstock as a pice of art should be ;-) and we all went for dinner afterwards. The whole experience was unforgettable. Thanks, team Shishkov! I hope he'll get to start on my order soon....no pressure of course
  11. How do you guys do this? I do look too, know those site like ebay kleinanzeigen...never ever did I pull of a stunt like this...congrats!!! ... now... wanna sell it to me?
  12. Hanging out at customs in Allemagne (the guitar is). Hope I can pick it up by the end of the week.
  13. This is very very nice! Love the B&W Graphics...
  14. Thanks. Damn the bendings ;-). It's all recorded with a 1965 jaguar, an orange tiny terror with an older marshall 4x12, a digitech delay at a friends studio. There's some minor editing to the tracks but I was trying hard to play straight through every song. Also played a 1968 jazzmaster on a couple of songs. So It's all fender this time which is a new experience for me (big Les Paul and Hamer fan). C.
  15. Thanks Dude. Next couple of lyrics I'll be working on will throughout springtime ;-). That should sort out the melancholy. Your comment is much appreciated...
  16. Gentlemen, I just uploaded 11 new tracks. It's all guitars only and bits of singing. It's on soundcloud and you can download any track if you like. I'd appreciate your response if you've got the time... I know there's good things on TV too ;-) http://soundcloud.com/dcroyalties/sets/locknlol-demos/ Cheers C.
  17. Jack White is an awesome musician! Aside of this: In that James Bond song his singing is way better than Alicia Keys' ....
  18. Damn...it's already been taking of ebay. The list of things he was selling was unbelievable and he was asking you to Not communicate through ebay but send e-mails to another e-mail address. The ad for the Ace Frehley LP looked very much like cut´n´paste to me. It was a laugh while it lasted...
