  2. Where does the structural strength come from to withstand the tension of the strings? Pretty flippin' cool, Greg.
  3. That's pretty extensive....I don't know...
  4. My home computer crapped out. No cash now. DOH!
  5. I'm honored for Greg to have turned down Ace in order to be my guitar tech. It ain't braggin' if you can back it up. And Greg delivers the goods every time.
  6. That's sexy the way Dale Bozzio was sexy.
  7. Given the high quality of Hamer necks, do you really need to intonate? I've heard plenty of wonderful acoustic guitars that don't have any adjustable saddles. Yo...I'm not saying anything, I'm just sayin...
  8. Geez...I am such a dork. I complain about having to cut and paste on Garageband. This guy is doing it on real tape. Doh!!!
  9. That's far more elegant than other solutions I've seen. But I saw this as well: NOTE: Intended to replace tailpieces with OFFSET stud inserts (i.e., '61 and earlier Gibson and reiusses with offset stud inserts). Are they compatible with mid-90s Studios?
  10. Nevermind....Burningyen beat me to it. : (
  11. Wrap tail is my favorite. Those guitars are sweet.
  12. OMG - I used to see this guy at the University of Illinois in the mid-70s. This definitely brought a smile to my face, remembering the fire and brimstone condemnations of the fornicators. Thanks for the link David. And thanks for all the cool Doobies links. I was at the U of I at Urbana during the mid 80s and we had a guy on the quad doing the same thing. Wonder if it was the same guy. I'm surprised the fire and brimstone approach ever worked. But then again, the stick never works with me. I'm much more of a carrot kind of guy.
  13. Maybe you should turn around when you listen?
  14. HBD fellas!
  15. Well, shouldn't a 25" scale guitar with a thick mahogany body, maple top, and mahogany neck with a 6-screw trem sound fuller than a 25.5" scale guitar with a basswood body, maple neck and a double-locking trem? It would be embarrassing if it didn't. Still, they both sounded like "Vai" if you know what I mean. Anyway, I can't f$#*#in believe that's on the same album as that tweener pop crap single. It's mind-boggling. I will definitely be downloading that song and would be all over an album of like-minded material. -Austin Violet Journey is her import disc that has gotten some good reviews. I haven't heard it, so I can't say an more about it. But I'm impressed enough with what I've already heard to order it.
  16. If it was a guy, viewers would think it was just Vai on a splitscreen. It's hard enough to tell Ori and him apart as it is. -Austin What? Are all them white people starting to look alike? I think she's got a very prominent nose...ala Christy Hynde. At least that's who I thought of when I first saw Ori playing. By the way, does Vai's tone sound particularly thin when listening to his parts against her parts? Or is it just me. (He ducks)

  18. Thanks, Jol. Loved the commitment to excellence. Loved what the guitars and music they helped create. Even more so when I discovered some of my favorite guitar players growing up were playing your instruments. Best wishes in your new endeavors.
  19. I joined because I wanted to learn more about Hamer guitars. But then Boobies thread, politics, learning about all sorts of stuff, humor, caraderie - great place to have dropped into. I like Hamers. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy a different brand if it did what I was looking for a guitar to do. On the other hand, the Hamers I've played covered a lot of ground. So I'm in pretty good shape.
  20. Looks like he has been very very very dedicated to his practicing.
  21. Man, you always come up with sumptin'. : ) Very cool. Details when you get a chance, please.
  22. Just bought a Mesa Maverick last night. I love them tubes! The TM60 is now relegated to back up/son's practice amp status. No hesitation about the decision whatsoever. Then again, I mostly play in the bedroom. I don't have to schlep that beast around. The TM60 is good. But the Maverick is great.
  23. #50 posts and almost 800 views for Nickleback? Are you out of your ....Ah...never mind. I'm heading back over to the Boobies thread. MCC put up a blonde hottie with a very pretty rack - Colombian man's kryptonite.
