  1. Real CD in the house for a couple of days. Love it very much. Many thanks for the music Jack.
  2. The bridge classifies for the Hamer of Bridges Award.
  3. I should have known. Pics or it doesn't count eh? But I tell you, in no way will I send that stony hippo over the pond standing behind me in the pic.
  4. ... now for coffee and creme lovers. Notice, we've Englished the green. Note: iPhone5 taken with ProCamera app. No enhancements. I can't believe.
  5. Never mind the resale value. I would recommend German beer, not only bavarian. Well, I think Monte not looking for that.
  6. I went to the soapbox site and sent a message to the contact email there. No idea if they will ever reply though. Gorch also told me that some people close to May go to that RS site I subscribed to a while ago. Will post some pics there too, as soon as I can. That's exactly what I did, sending mail to the soapbox' mail address. Pete Malendrone, Brian's guitar tech replied. Let's see what comes back.
  7. The guitar definitely has a cool color.
  8. Do you think the price is worth it? Go for it.
  9. 2 years wait for the guitar. We can be happy the shoes still exist. Great idea with the strap.
  10. ...continued as for forum limits. Now from the back. Connected! Sound's like a real Red Special to me. Very nice too, the original style head with locking tuners. The guitar perfectly stays in tune. Sound makers. Burns Tri Sonics. The guitar plays great, sounds exactly as expected. And certainly looks killer. Doesn't it?
  11. Sorry for late posting. I had a hard father's day yesterday and I'm still recovering. Well, I've done my job and opened a bottle of good red wine to celebrate the box opening. Here it goes... Tasty red wine first. We want to enjoy. Wait! What's in there? Look at that. Black nose appearing. This is already telling a story. Hard shell case in V shape. Safely packaged. Eyes wide open. This is it. Out of the box, next to the Bo. To be continued...
  12. Don't miss out on Killer Queen. Even on the latest Cosmos Rocks are epic ones. Call Me has a freaking odd one you won't beat. Through The Night starts off with killer tones.
  13. Going to be shipped on Monday. Send a prayer for sunny weather next weekend for great pics. We have a long weekend here in Germany. That's going to be fun.
  14. It really does. Someone needs to get a pic to Dr. May somehow; I'm sure he would get a kick out of it. - Austin I've sent a pic of mine to Brian's Soapbox last year. Pete Malandrone replyed that he liked it and would show it to Brian when there is time. I've never received a second note. Anyways, I'll go and tell you guys how Zorrow's guitar rocks when it arrives. I've got cold feet taking care of it before Zorrow even touches it, but now can't wait for the arrival. What an honor!
  15. I'm just waiting for the pics...
  16. Incredible - building time and final result!
  17. Thank you. Now it's built already, it looks easy; but it took me several iterations on paper to steer this project to where I wanted it to go. I wanted it to remain as loyal as possible to the original RS, with a vintage edge and lot of class, but I also wanted a Vee. As I don't like cheesy metal shapes nor "over-pointy" stuff, I opted for the classic 58 V. I think I completely got it when I decided to go with rounder pickguard corners and with the tremolo plate exactly like in the RS. I'm very proud of this guitar and have no words to thank the builder, Ronny, who is a caring, skilled, knowledgeable and open-minded person, and who also had to deal with my caprices at every single level -and also contributed with his more than valuable input and experience, of course. So, as he has materialized my vision 100% to my expectations, I will never be able to pay him for that, in spite of what I paid him for his job. If this thing plays as good as it looks, I'll consider my guitar-related dreams realized. I thought the same at first, but now I think it's hard to tell how big is that market. At least it's a quite risky move going that path, for sure... but who knows anyway? I wonder May didn't come to that conclusion!!! To my personal taste the original RS shape today appears quite old fashioned. Instead of ever copying a vintage shape a clever facelift would sometimes do the trick. That's what the big companies actually do, eventually, to re-publish the old shapes in even more expensive limited series.
  18. It was an honor being allowed to follow up the order and building process. It looks much better than the original shape, doesn't it?
  19. I don't remember any black outs so far.
  20. Lots of Prince and Michael Jackson. The Purple Rain melody was the first my son learned to play at age 6.
  21. Well I've paid more for the Standard, but think the Tally could beat it on resale value. The Bo Diddley Red Special could be in the race for its exclusiveness. All three and the Newport are fantastic playing and sounding guitars and remain no-sellers for me.
  22. Maybe that's the reason he sold it too.
  23. There's always a good reason for a leak at the right time.
