  1. Man, this is the forum where 2 years wait custom orders are publicly end-2-end tested before the buyer has a chance to touch it. Man, the sound is great? Hell yeah! Edited: Spellings...
  2. Damn, I'm late in here. That's freaking fantastic! How did you survive the wait? I was just creating ideas what to talk about at the next Musikmesse in March 13.
  3. Played mine through a Silvertone yesterday evening. Direct in, no effects, just pure tubes. Fantastic growling, rocking, jazzing, bluesing. It was a joy to play. Phat Cats are in. What a versatile guitar!
  4. Wow, you've seen them both on one evening and I haven't seen even one of them in my whole life. Although I listen to both for decades. Should I move to your country?
  5. I'm not having large hands, but the Newport's neck fits perfectly. The top is thicker than you'd expect on a hollow body. The resonance still is great with the spruce top.
  6. Take the Newport as is when it comes with the Phat Cats. Just turn volume and tone down to your taste. Full up it is quite rocking dirty. The Newport should be available for about +/-$1250.
  7. They might make a good job in the Newport too. Give it a more lovely sound as opposed to raw Phat Cats.
  8. When I hear DoubleDs my eyes light up. These pups are fantastic. They sure try to imitate Tele style from a P90 basis. Which is a contradiction in itself. However, they have a very authentic sound, but remain individual. In the Tally for me a no changer. Zorow, be happy to have a set of them. Actually, I remember you had sold a pair of DDs once. I'm surprised you have bought them back again.
  9. One time in the future I will own one of those...
  10. It just needs some singles to the V. When I check on what I've got. Without a plan, I turned all of my guitars into some sort of single coil except for the Standard Custom. I now have Double Ds, P90s, Strat type single coils, Tri Sonics, and finally PAFs. There seem to be a greater variety on the single side though.
  11. You're not kidding! I was halfway tempted to move this over to the "Booties" thread, based on the backside of that guitar... Would also make a good job in the Boobies thread with that ca(u)rves.
  12. My modeler gives me a ton more options than my old amp and pedals rig, so in that sense more choice has created more complexity. But my physical rig is simpler, lighter and more compact than it used to be: guitar->tuner->modeler->monitor vs. guitar->tuner->compressor->phaser->fuzz->OD->flanger->tremolo->volume pedal->delay->reverb->amp I would have expected guitar->pedalboard->amp->mic->monitor How much time do you spend to create your sounds in the modeler in terms of? tuner->compressor->phaser->fuzz->OD->flanger->tremolo->volume pedal->delay->reverb-> What is the variety in sound effects in the modeler as opposed to the open pedal and effects market?
  13. It's the opposite with me. His turn into more complex and partly classic areas really turn me on. The "Sound Theories" are magnificent. Jon Lord's "Concerto for Group and Orchestra" is one of my all time favourites. I loved it from the first time I heard it. With Made in Japan they are the only 2 DP records I own. Bought the 30th anniversary version and now the first studio recording of it. It had been finished just before Lord past away. Came shipped with the Vai CD. Brilliant, with Vasilev, Bonamassa, and Morse on electric guitar. I thought your son would have been on the liner notes, but couldn't identify him immediately. What a fantastic reference! I stepped through the DVD yesterday evening. It's almost as long as the CD, talking every song in detail with video sequences from building the studio, recording within and some stuff around. Haven't identified your son so far.
  14. The new Vai album came in today. I'm impressed and surprised. Complex music again that will take some time to be explored. Great sounds, playing, and composing for sure. I've bought the extended version with the DVD included. Anyone into it already?
  15. now I connot get pump up the jam out of my head What's in next?
  16. No matter what, Prince is a genius.
  17. Listen to it for quite a while. It doesn't top the first album, missing some versatility for my taste. High level critics all in all.
  18. This is no. 5! ... not many Newports here either.
  19. It's missing of the catchy ballads they had on PTL and OWTTHAB. I also like the acoustic tunes that come with the Digi Pack. 15 songs nice packaging and the badge. Just found Lada Gaga in the credits. Quite a support for a reunion. Last song has Ian Anderson giving a blow job.
  20. First song running. I damn like the singing and music. Advantage of buying a CD, the credits state that Brian May, Pete Malendrone, and Ian Anderson have been engaged to some extend in the making. 2nd song just started ... so far it seems to be a style mix of the 1st and 2nd CD. Tempting...
  21. Very cool!
  22. So, that is serious work! Only a few manage to keep the stamp alive.
  23. The world would loose a great guitar player if you couldn't get hand on the problem.
  24. That came into my mind too. Did you think of changing strings? Check your playing style. Are you using all 4 fingers in a classical way? My wife likes my fingering too - joking. My fingertips feel equally used. Instead of your regular doc I'd recommend a good chinese medicine expert. Anything pharmacy wouldn't solve the problem as I think comes from the inside. You might check for anything fungus in your stomage area i.e. Traditional Chinese Medicine had put me in line a few years ago traditional western pharmacy could have never done. I'm totally committed to TCM now.
  25. Too cool! Same event 2 weeks ahead here. We're in preparation.
