zorrow Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Serious stuff, no BS. Is anybody here who can tell me more about this beauty? 12 1 Quote
zorrow Posted August 18, 2024 Author Posted August 18, 2024 (edited) @cmatthes or @HamStd, do you know anything about this one? Edited August 18, 2024 by zorrow Replaced “something” by “anything” 😜 Quote
Steve Haynie Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 That was part of a run of Standards that went to dealers in Japan. 4 1 Quote

BTW, I got it from a guy in Canada who strangely isn’t a member of the HFC, but owns many cool Hamers. He’s selling several of them, and some are true gems. I promised to him I would recommend him as a seller around here and on FB. His name is Tyler Henderson. The guitar was packaged perfectly and shipped in a snap. He’s very cool too, nice person to deal with. I’m going to propose to him to become a member of the fan club, and he might start selling his stuff here when he’ll get authorized by the administrators. 6 Quote
cmatthes Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 It’s from a run of Standards made for KORG, the Japanese distributor between 1995-96. They’re identical to a stock 59Burst Standard from that era, with the exception of gold hardware and the headstock transfer is at the headstock tip and there’s the RN signature in front of that. Very cool! 8 Quote
crunchee Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 I bought one in '98 from MusicLand KEY in Shibuya (Tokyo), when I was stationed in Japan with the U.S. Navy. It's exactly like cmatthes said. I got mine featured in the 'Reader's Gallery' in the Feb. 99 issue of Vintage Guitar (the issue with the infamous 'Exploer' cover...VG spelled 'Explorer' wrong on the cover in big letters for everyone to see ). 3 2 Quote

He is sort of like Hamer's equivalent of Ronald McDonald. 1 5 Quote
