#0091- one of many cool details...

I was working on #0091 tonight and was struck with this ingenious solution that Mike came up with to meet my request. I couldn't remember if I had posted about it here before...

What do you do when you want it built like a spruce top/mahogany back Newport 90, but want to be able to access the control cavity from the back?

If you cut in a cover plate, it will be visible thru the f-hole from the front, so Mike friction fit the cut out piece from the back, then mounted it to a regular metal cover.

Looks like a normal cover plate for a solidbody from the back...

And nearly invisible from the front.

What is the color?  Reminds me of Inca Silver, one of my fave colors.

It's something Mike/Gary came up with, I think he said sage metallic with some pearl mixed in.

Inca silver with a yellowed topcoat and '68 muscle car vibes were definitely discussed.
