riffpowers Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 the thing that sucks the most is that JohnnyThunders is the nicest, most helpful, non controversal member the HFC has ever had, unreal to use him in this halfass attack. +1000000If it wasn't for his patience and unexhaustable advice I wouldn't have even ended up owning a hamer.
kenjones Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Wow. This behavior is just incredibly sad and pathetic.
Matt Mattson Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Well I log in this morning and what do I see -- a new aquaintance of mine is peeing on me . . .Sorry guys, this new entity is not the aforementioned lover of all things gay. As some of you know I have a couple other lives I lead besides music and film (no -- not that kind of "other" life) and saw this person's (JohnnyThunders) post last night and stupidly thought: Well there can only be one JohnnyThunders. BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT. Wrongobongo. Do not go past go. Do not collect $50.Here's the string:http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,39860.0.htmlJust saw this over here and thought I'd attempt to straighten out what was what and defend the lover of all things gay (I heard he's at Disney in a tight leather thong selling banana splits to the tourists).Anyway, sorry for the confusion -- and yes, JohnnyThunders (from what I see here) is a real nice guy (I will just have to trust Kiz on the kissing ability).
mattb Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 "(I heard he's at Disney in a tight leather thong selling banana splits to the tourists)."Holy shit Matt, you are climbing the funny ladder daily!

JohnnyThunders Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 the thing that sucks the most is that JohnnyThunders is the nicest, most helpful, non controversal member the HFC has ever had... ...and a great kisser! (Sorry....someone had to). Geez guys thanks for all the nice complements and Kiz if you thought I was a great kisser then wait till we met up for the Washington Jam. I have a really nice package I want to give you!
Matt Mattson Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Good to know this little episode has brought you two closer together.

Guest galejt Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Wow. This behavior is just incredibly sad and pathetic. What!? I step away for a few days and Kiz takes up my schtick? Nunsense!
Guest Johnnythunders2 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 First of all Johnny played lots of different guitars but his most famous was a Gibson LesPaul Junior TV. It's in the Cleveland Rock and Roll Museum, first floor. Early vidoes from Max's show him playing a Flying V then the band got new guitars from their record company with Sylvain getting the famous TV and Johnny gettinga black Les Paul, they swapped after awhile and that's what they played while in the Dolls. Later Johnny played some Gibson big hollowbodies in the early 80's while overseas. I'm sure he played other stuff. I play Hamers becase they are the best, I have 2 Gibson LP Jrs and would love a Gibson TV Junior., but they are too expensive. You can't get Gibson LP Juniors espcially TV for $2,000 anymore unless they are completely trashed, they are in the 5-10,000 range. The reason I have Joey Ramone on my sig line is I like him also. Now class over and I think you should return to Harmony Central and play nice with the other kids. GoodBye! Yes Johnny Thunders played a few Guitars. He started out with a Les Paul TV Special and then he bought a Les Paul Tv Jr. because it was lighter and less knobs on it to play with....Yes JT played a flying V and the video was from Detroit, and he played a Greetch hollow body for about a year....I am sure you have read many storys on JTBut by knowing him I never seen him play a hamer guitar....And Yes you can find Les Pauls Jrs from 1954-1959 for the $2000-$3000 range if you look a bit.....Yes there will be some wear on the guitar but the guitars are 50 years old.....I have seen a Les Pual TV special being sold in west hollywood for $4000,,,,great deal and little wear...............Johnny
JohnnyB Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I have seen a Les Pual TV special being sold in west hollywood for $4000,,,,great deal and little wear Gibosn Les Puals are way cheaper than Gibson Les Pauls. Anybody looking for a good deal on a Greetch Kuntree Gennelman?
JohnnyB Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Well I am new on this site and someone Emailed me and said there is a Johnny Thunders wannabee on this site that knows everything about Johnny?Hmmm. Since Johnny Thunders died 15 years ago, you ain't him either. Doesn't that make you a wannabe?Especially since you'll only play TV Jrs.
Guest Johnnythunders2 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Not at all,,,I use the info that I know and share it with others that are fans of his...Johnny Was A very Nice Guy very lonely at times towards the end as if you ever got the Video from the Fast Lane NJ from 1990.........I can go on but theres no need too...I always like the Les Paul Specal TVs from the Dolls first album,,,,But who knew I would have made friends with JT years later.........
mattb Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I still don't get this whole thing.....So you were friends with him. Great. What is your point, our JT can't be a fan and play hamers too?
Matt Mattson Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I still don't get this whole thing.... -- and I thought it was just me.The part I don't get is the "Johnny Thunders would never play a Hamer." Did he have some death wish for Hamer? Was he in a contract with Gibson? Did he communicate this with anyone in any way?How do we know he wouldn't be playing one today? In my recent purchases I've noted wild quality swings with the majors and rock-solid hand-crafted guitars from USA Hamer -- why wouldn't Johnny notice the same changes (in the majors) these last 15 years or so? Of course, if you have a contract you have a contract -- I understand that, and also that a contract player isn't picking up a floor model from Sam Ash for concerts -- but that is simply business, it has nothing to do with guitars.BTW: mattb -- what happened to matta? Clear violation of the rules.
serial Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Well, since BCRGreg has been touring with the New York Dolls (ok, whoever's still alive in the band-and if you haven't heard their new album-it KICKS ASS!), maybe we should have him ask Buster Poindexter what the real deal is on this.
atquinn Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 BTW: mattb -- what happened to matta? Clear violation of the rules.
Matt Mattson Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Well, since BCRGreg has been touring with the New York Dolls Quite concerned about him. Generally, city slickers and the outdoor way of life don't mix well. I sure hope he's not a closet smoker.
Mike_C Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Whatever happened to Korinahound? BTW Gary is a great guy and a fan of Johnny Thunders and if you can't get that a guy can be a fan and like Hamer guitars too then you need a big ole bitch slap.
