Guest pirateflynn Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Is there something going on at the end of the fretboard?
Lou Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Is there something going on at the end of the fretboard? I may need to apply a decent oil to it? If anyone has a recommendation, also a polish for the nickel?
cmatthes Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Try using Flitz for the nickel. Polishes it up nicely. There's also Simichrome paste, but the Flitz is cleaner to apply and use.(JUST DON'T USE IT ON GOLD PLATED HARDWARE!!!!)
Lou Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 weight?A 95 Eclipse on Ebay weighed in at about 8lbs. I'll weigh mine this evening.
straightblues Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I love my Eclipse. It has amazed me from day one. It is simply a great guitar. I don't have any clue as to why these aren't more popular.
seeker Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Where is the Hameritis? Neck joint and/or fretboard edge?
Lou Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 Where is the Hameritis? Neck joint and/or fretboard edge?Let's see, I just weighed the guitar and it's right at 8lbs (just a standard scale). The discoloration at the lower part of the neck is just dirt in the open grain.I cleaned most of it but some still remains, the fretboard is very grainy andnot sure why the last 2 frets look different. I also polished the nickel pickupsand they look great. I'l post a closeup of the pickups and discolored graintommorrow. The Hameritus is along the Low E string side, there isn't anythingon the other side or the neck joint. I bought the guitar that way & I don't think it got any worse. I also said there weren't any scratches but there is a very small one at the headstock from one of the strings, it doesn't go thru the paint or anything but I thought it needed to be mentioned.

geoff_hartwell Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Any interest in partial gear trades? Pedals, etc. Off the top of my head, you might dig the Visual Sound H20 (new in box), Line6 ToneCore Space Chorus (new w/o box), Line 6 ToneCore Roto-Machine (new in Box), Boss CS-3 (new in Box), Fulltone Distortion Pro (used w/ orig box) etc. Thanks! Caddie Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 If you can keep it....keep it. It's one of those where you'll wake up someday, whack yourself in the head and say "why did I sell that one?" That belly cut on the back, the forearm cut on the front, the balance, the mini-hums, the wraptail. Its a simple scaaa reeeemin' r&r geetar. Its a keeper. Keep it.noonan
