Steve Haynie Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 This Chaparral has been on eBay over and over with the price dropping every week or two. It has a refin and a headstock repair, but considering the price of other set neck Chaparrals it should be going at the listed price. I do think the headstock repair should be invisible after a refin. Any opinions?
Scooter Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Maybe the rather boring color has something to do with it. Maybe.
kurtsstuff Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 No matter how much you polish a turd.......it's still a turd.....
MCChris Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 What's wrong with it? The price hasn't dropped down to $350 yet. That's what's wrong with it.
Steve Haynie Posted May 8, 2007 Author Posted May 8, 2007 Yes, but can it be un-turded within a reasonable price?
Craig S Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Probably because a re-fin can look like a showcar or krylon painted deck furniture.... The crack doesn't help much either... I'd buy it ....cheap!
Crwth145 Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Just looked at where he's at... less than ten miles away from me. Me thinks it's time to "ask seller a question" about performing an up close and personal pre-bid inspection. (message sent, awaiting response) I shall report back...
kizanski Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Not many white Protos with a matching headstock, I'd wager.
Crwth145 Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 More than a day now since I've asked to check it out, still no response... It's today/tonight or never 'cause I'll be tied up all day tomorrow. Not exactly my cup o' tea, anyway. Still would have been fun to scope it for y'all.
Steve Haynie Posted May 10, 2007 Author Posted May 10, 2007 Thank for trying to look at the guitar. That headstock repair should be invisible under a refinish.
Submariner85 Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I'd consider buying it if it didn't have the Floyd.
